We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Support Manager to join our HSE Team in Grangemouth. You will be responsible for an on-shift management capability responsible for site wide comprehensive HSE incident management and support, together with prioritisation and task management of Operational shift teams and Engineering shift resources. You will manage activities in compliance with site, company and regulatory requirements, e.g., local site safety instructions, Syngenta HSE policy, standards and management system, COMAH and associated regulations, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations

Accountabilities include;

  • Provide site security and incident management capability including managing complaints and all types of incident (major or minor, internal or external and including involvement in Major Incident Control Committee (MICC) response.
  • Provide task and resource management to deliver Site priorities via appropriate production management processes to acceptable standards.
  • Coach Syngenta Grangemouth employees, contractors and visitors in all aspects of manufacturing systems, behaviours, and emergency procedures to maintain and improve standards.
  • Manage the process for out-of-hours requests for resource.
  • Task manage shift Control/Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams to ensure quality, productivity and the relative prioritisation of tasks fit with business needs
  • Provide out of hours permits for control of work, management of change and risk assessment.

Qualifications

Requisite Experience, Qualifications and Behaviours:

  • Solid experience in manufacturing and either a technical support or HSE operational role.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of hazards arising from chemical manufacturing site operations.
  • Knowledge of control of work (confined space entry; permit to work; hot work)
  • Flexible – this is a shift-based role, so flexibility is essential
  • At least an HNC or equivalent qualification
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) is desirable
  • Ability to lead, influence and communicate manufacturing issues and information to all groups within the Site (including contractors)
  • Knowledge of UK legislation and the ability to interpret and translate legislative needs for the company.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Formal Continuous Improvement knowledge and application in a manufacturing environment is desirable
