Location:  Huddersfield UK is the preferred location, but candidates at other Syngenta offices or manufacturing sites will be considered for this global role.

 

Job Description:

Syngenta seeks an exceptional Electrical Engineer to lead our worldwide operations as Principal Engineer Electrical. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee a $4.5 billion asset portfolio and guide $400 million in annual capital projects. Your expertise will drive innovation, set industry benchmarks, and support our engineering community across Syngenta's worldwide operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply world-class electrical engineering skills to revolutionize agricultural technology and enhance global food security. Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee electrical safety and compliance across 25 global production sites in 4 regions
  • Conduct site visits to share best practices and identify improvement opportunities, audit critical situations
  • Provide expert technical leadership tailored to diverse Syngenta operations
  • Stay at the forefront of industry developments through external engagement and networking
  • Driving innovation in new technologies
  • Guide capital project teams in implementing innovative, value-added solutions
  • Develop and maintain operational safety guidance documents
  • Lead incident investigations and implement learnings across the organization
  • Foster engineering excellence through mentorship and professional development initiatives

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in electrical installation design and site electrical conformity
  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Project management expertise in electrical installations
  • Capacity to develop a network, interact with business leaders, train & coach engineering community, develop pragmatic and efficient communication.
  • Global manufacturing experience, ideally managing international networks
  • Familiarity with ATEX regulations and directives
  • Operational experience in a manufacturing site
  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of working time
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
  • French, Spanish or Portuguese language is a plus
