Logistics Manager

Role purpose

• Responsible for optimizing the administration of logistics management function for Bothe raw materials & finish product, the Logistics Flow from an end to end perspective considering regional and global impact, often including multiples job function.
• Responsible for all or most of the followings : inventory management, warehousing, transportation & distribution, Requires thorough involvement with procurement, customer services, production planning, and customs etc.
• Establishes supply standards/strategic to ensure quality and sourcing required at the bast cost and delivery conditions with domestic and international logistics activities, i.e. import and export, warehousing and transportation management.
• Manage all logistics activities in a given geography for bulk/packed raw materials and finished products from receipt into plant warehouses, storage and warehouse management, product picking and dispatching, delivery to customers, road safety and fleet management.

Accountabilities 

• Lead and has direct line responsibility for local logistics operations in meeting objectives for safety & environmental responsibility; customer focus; operations efficiency and effectiveness; and 3rd party contractor management.
• Develops, manages and motivates the local logistics team.  Challenge the current business methodology/procedures through the application of continuous improvement and best practice techniques/knowledge
• Management of warehouses and transportation fleet (own and 3rd party) and other 3rd party logistics service providers, including capacity planning, capability development, HSES, inventory accuracy, effective utilization of warehouse/transportation fleet, performance stewardship, working on continuous improvement program.
• Responsible for implementing HSES standards in local logistics organization.  Promoting the cause of warehouse and road transport HSES including planning and implementing the requirements.
• Provide logistics advice/assistance to Customer Service in their day-to-day management of the logistics service providers, including regular audits and performance review.
• Responsible for warehousing & PVDE budget and target.  This include functional budgeting, cost HSES, reporting and KPIs management.
• Planning and recommending medium to long terms logistics business strategies.
• Streamlining/re-design/build the logistics network according to business needs to promote innovation; optimize service level; appropriate response time; and cost efficiency.
• Responsible for SVDE budget and target. This includes functional budgeting, customer complaints management, reporting and KPIs management.
• Take the lead in reviewing functional financial and operations performance.  Addressing issues and introduce remedial action.
• Owner to lead 3rd party logistics service providers (warehouse and transportation) contracts sourcing, tendering, and negotiation in order to secure cost effective operating model.
• Initiate regular performance review meeting with 3rd party logistics service providers.  Addressing issues and coach the contractors towards operations excellence target.
• Providing day to day support (both proactive and reactive) to line managers on any of the issues already referred to, as well as response to immediate/unusual situations.
• Effective lead and management of Trade and Customs facilitation to ensure compliance with the relevant national and international control regimes in the country

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

• Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Business and must have more than 3 years working experience
• Proven experience in either Logistics or chemical industry (minimum 2-3 years in a logistics related role in addition to 3-5 years in supply chain roles with at least 2-3 years in a leadership capacity).
• This position would generally require a logistics or supply chain related graduate qualification together with a sound working knowledge in supply chain, preferably with experience in logistics distribution of bulk and packed products, exposure to sales function and with a strong drive to satisfy customer needs.
• Sound interpersonal/influencing skills would also be required with respect to internal/external customers; 3rd party contractor; and external organization
• DGSA qualification or modal qualifications for ADR, IMDG and IATA.
• Sounds knowledge in international transportation and global logistics.  Recognizing early legislative development and understanding of HSE issues facing the transport of dangerous goods.

Critical experience

• Proven track record in the logistics area covering all modes of transport, warehousing and HSES
• Can demonstrate experience in change management, i.e. can describe tools and techniques used; changing people mindset; anticipates and managing challenges.
• IT systems, experienced in SAP-IM, WMS, and MM modules or other WMS package
