Role purpose:

  • Provide HSE support to the Site and ensure compliance with Syngenta HSE policy, standards, code of practices, and local legislations.
  • To enable effective identification and management of risk scenarios and HSE issues at the site, third-party tollers, and contractors
  • To provide support as subject matter expert & CRMC member to other functions like Commercial, supply, and R&D as and when required
  • To effectively represent the company in various HSE forums and bodies

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and implement the HSE management system, programs and procedure that comply with Syngenta HSE standards, Syngenta code of practices and local legislations.
  • Engage the site Leaders and provide the information to set HSE targets / objectives, develop action plans, document and track implementation until completion.
  • Develop HSE capabilities in internal and external resources.
  • To conduct internal audits as per internal audit calendar. Share monthly report to site leadership team. Represent Syngenta Pakistan in external audits as and when required.
  • Establish and maintain networks with local authorities and keep abreast of any new or emerging HSE legislations.
  • Ensure that proper environmental and operating permits are acquired for new facilities/operations and then maintained per local regulations.
  • Ensure the requirements of key HSE processes (e.g. Letter of Assurance, Risk Management, Emergency Management System, Reporting and Incident Investigation) are delivered.
  • Lead and implement Global and Regional HSE strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure monthly reporting of HSE KPIs on Global Reliance tool
  • Provide HSE training to all employees as per internal training calendar
  • Lead waste management program at site
  • As a CRMC member provide active support to PK Commercial, supply and R&D as and when required 
  • Provide support to other functions across the organisation being the subject matter expert as and when required.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Engineering
  • Knowledgeable on HSE legislations and local cultures and its impacts on communications and  practices
  • Good knowledge in HSE and Process Safety Management
  • Auditing skill
  • Problem identification and solving skill
  • 6 – 8 years’ of working experience in an oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceutical industry or any related industry
  • Experience in developing and implementing HSE system and programs
  • Experience in a production and processing environment
  • Well versed with international trends in HSE and has good knowledge of local laws and legislations
  • MNC experience is must, Good communication skilss
    Certified safety and health officer or equivalent HSE professional credentials (IEOSH,NEBOSH, etc.)
  • Capability to do root causes analysis 
  • To support and develop a team to be able to deliver the critical HSE KPIs and implement business requirements
