Seed Health Operations Lead

The Challenge 

In this role you will be responsible for co-managing all day-to-day seed testing operations for the Enkhuizen Seed Health Quality Control (QC) Laboratories and ensuring that all testing is completed on-time to meet sales demand. But what does this mean?

  • You will lead and manage a team of 12-15 dedicated employees in QC testing! You will be there for them and coach and lead them to a higher level. You make sure you do everything in your power to optimize their capabilities. This means you will stimulate them to develop themselves through education, training, and exchange. You will recruit, motivate, and assess the performance of your team as well.
  • You will ensure on-time delivery of quality control test results from Enkhuizen Seed Health testing laboratories.      
  • Your opinion and knowledge are very important! You will participate in QC leadership team to develop and implement QC strategies and you will have focus on the end-to-end business results. You will participate in global QC networks as well.  
  • We are constantly innovating, and we have a focus on continuously improving the operational processes. To make this happen you collaborate across the Enkhuizen labs, as well as, with the global QC development teams and the global network of QC laboratories to drive process improvement and adoption of automation solutions, new test methods, and best practices.
  • Safety first. A top priority is to ensure full compliance on HSE, quality and security standards. You secure a safe and healthy work environment and process execution at all places according to Syngenta HSE standards.

Qualifications

Your Profile 

  • To make this collaboration a success you have at least Msc degree with 7 years of experience in a similar role, or you have a PhD in a relevant field of study that include molecular biology, virology, or plant pathology.
  • People management is in your nature, and you bring proven experience. Preferably, you are experienced in leading a large and multi-cultural team. Besides that, stakeholder management one of your favourite things to do.
  • As we are an international and diverse company, we ask you to have strong communication and presentation skills in English and preferable a basic command of Dutch. Do you speak fluently English and does your Dutch need some improvement? Don’t worry, we can work on that!
