  3. Syngenta Crop Protection

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

As a world-leading plant science company, we never stop looking for new and better ways forward. Regulatory compliance is critical to our activities worldwide, and to support this we are looking to recruit a Regulatory Manager to work in our Process Hazards Section based in Huddersfield.  Process Hazards Section (PHS) is a group of technical specialists in process safety, whose responsibilities include the generation of data (particularly flammability & stability) to support Syngenta’s regulatory submissions across the globe.

This is where you come in!

We are recruiting for an experienced GLP Study Director / Regulatory Manager to lead our GLP operations.  As the single point of study control with ultimate responsibility for the overall scientific conduct of the study, you will be responsible for organising and evaluating the practical work carried out by the experimental team, taking personal responsibility for the data and issue of the final report.

You will also liaise with our partners, ensuring studies are completed to expected turnaround times, and more broadly will ensure the continued compliance of all our activities with GLP.  This will involve managing relationships with our external QA Auditor and the MHRA, in particular to understand external driving forces and anticipating what is required to ensure continued compliance. You will also provide guidance to our non-GLP activities on quality & compliance requirements under other quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001 & ISO 17025).

Qualifications

Specific prior knowledge of process safety measurements & data is not necessary, as you will be joining a group of globally recognised technical experts that will support your development in this area (though some knowledge of REACH and / or CLP regulations may be helpful). What we do require from you is:

  • Typically, at least two years’ experience in carrying out the duties of a Study Director, as defined by the UK GLP Regulations 1999, to ensure that experimental work, auditing & reporting meets GLP requirements.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to convey the appropriate level of detail to the right audience verbally, in writing, or by presentation and the ability to judge when and who to communicate key information.
  • Confidence using relevant IT such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and the ability to search literature & databases to collect, collate and interpret complex information.
  • Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline.

Additional Information

Whilst this role offers a competitive base pay, at Syngenta we value total reward which includes the benefits we offer to our employees. We support well-being, offering comprehensive benefits including flexible working, generous holiday entitlement, discretionary bonus scheme, competitive pension scheme, private medical insurance and employee assistance programme.
