You will be responsible to create a consolidated view of HSE performance and activity within the Region by collating, analyzing and interpreting data to enable developing trends and gaps to be identified and reported to the Regional HSELT enabling relevant support and action decisions can be implemented.

Regional HSE auditing commitments:

  • Manage 3rd party audit program in the region (tollers, waste, suppliers), including auditor training, qualification, audit planning and participating in ROST.

Planning/Organizing:

  • To provide resource planning and organizational management support to the Regional and Territory HSE Teams ensuring resource conflicts are identified and managed to ensure delivery of Regional HSE strategy and commitments (resources: people /competency /time /location).

Accountabilities:

  • A member of the Regional HSELT accountable for ensuring Regional documentation, Standard Operating Procedures and the information and data necessary for the Regional HSELT to perform knowledge based decision making is prepared, organized, maintained and readily accessible.
  • To manage the delivery, consistent with audit protocols, of the Regional HSE auditing commitments by ensuring that auditors are competent, audits are organized, resourced, fulfilled, reports are created and delivered to the business function owner in a timely manner.
  • To monitor the monthly reporting requirements and on a monthly basis create summary reports for LATAM HSELT, business partner review and deployment
  • With Territory HSE Teams regularly review and measure Territory performance and progress of agreed initiatives facilitating issues resolution and/or escalation to Regional HSELT.
  • Manage the programs that ensures Territory HSE Teams have the relevant information, instruction and training advice and support, enabling them to deliver the HSE management system requirements and solutions by coordinating the key steps in the initial training and education, and monitoring progress until individual requirements are validated. Regularly communicate progress to the Regional HSELT.

Complexity:

  • Liaising between Regional HSELT and Territory HSE Teams on operational matters
  • Organizing and managing data from multiple sources, analyzing, summarizing and presenting analysis to enable knowledge-based decision making
  • Regularly liaising with corporate HSE teams and the Supply Chain function at Territory and Regional levels

Essential for this position:


Qualifications

  • 10 years operational experience in Syngenta or within a related industry OR experience of Health, Safety or Environmental management, including 3 years in HSE auditing.
  • Experience of data analysis, summarizing and presenting Information and data, Instruction and training to Regional and Territory level Teams – 6 Sigma Green Belt desirable.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects and coordinating resources and information.

Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job:

  • Degree in Science, Engineering or related Technical subject.
  • Detailed operational knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management systems and working knowledge of existing and under developing relevant HSE legislation.
  • Appropriate national / international qualifications in HSE management or a specialist HSE discipline.
  • Project and change management skills and experience.
  • Fluent English / Spanish intermediate.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess and resolve problems and conflicts.
  • Ability to influence and gain support.
  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Negotiation and prioritization.
