  • Manage and execute all aspects of the operations of Seed Quality Control Laboratory (Local and SVT Lab) and maintain operations within budget
  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing a Laboratory Quality Manual following ISTA Seed Testing Laboratory Accreditation Standard
  • Ensure all seed laboratory equipment is maintained in good working order and calibrated where appropriate and that all records are kept up to date in accordance with APAC Quality Control Procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to Quality Manager and Quality Supervisors regarding seed quality and experimental procedures and other laboratory services for projects outside Quality function.
  • Management and training of laboratory personnel and stakeholders regarding seed quality control.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding seed quality issues and provide advice as deemed necessary.
  • Support QMS Implementation, develop and maintain an audit-ready laboratory organization in terms of documentation, procedures, day-to-day operations and recordkeeping
  • Reinforce compliance of seed quality control laboratory operation to company code of conduct and policies and other applicable local and national law and industry regulation.
  • Ensure seed quality laboratory activities are controlled by quality manual, procedure and work instruction in accordance with APAC Quality Control Procedures.
  • Implement QMS in accordance with APAC quality management guidelines.
  • Provide bi-monthly and month-end high level report about the quality of seed inventory in all stages to Quality Manager including identification of issues in seed quality and recommended solutions.
  • Ensure high level of accuracy in seedling evaluation through monthly audit of procedures, evaluators, calculations, test environment and media.
  • Provide technical assistance in investigations relevant to product non-conformity and process non-conformance, and in troubleshooting process line issues.
  • Identify training needs of personnel based on education, training skills and develop training goals. Provide training relevant to their present and anticipated tasks in the laboratory.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures by developing design of experiment and conducting validation studies.
  • Independence of judgment and integrity in relation to sampling and seed testing activities
  • ISTA training for testing quality assurance
  • Maintain competent working knowledge of quality transactions in SAP
  • Analysis of data from SAP
  • Working knowledge of statistical tools and data analysis
  • Work with Health Safety and Environment (HSE) regarding the identification of chemical and biological hazards
  • Maintain effective working relationships within Quality, and with stakeholders in FPP, Production and Supply
  • No non conformity product is released to customer.
  • Zero critical customer complaint
  • Zero critical finding on lab  internal and external audit
  • Ability to investigating customer complaint, identify and analyze root cause and CAPA
  • Complete at least 90% improvement plan yearly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or university in specific or technical fields of Biological Science, Agriculture or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality control in seed processing or in consumer goods manufacturing
  • Possess a broad understanding of Seed Quality Control processes and Quality Management System
  • Basic principles of biology, biotechnology, agriculture, seed production and quality control, Principles of Quality Assurance, QMS/ISO 9000
  • Capability to understand operational processes focused on integrated product offers (Seeds & CP)
  • Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma
  • Experience in assessing a situation, identifying issues and developing solutions that result in efficiencies and/or process improvements
  • Experience with implementation of corrective and preventive action programs
  • Successfully demonstrated ability to coach others with a strong self-awareness (both strengths and opportunities) and ability to self-develop
  • Ability to adapt to change and work flexibly to overcome boundaries
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to adjust work schedule based on business requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership skills.
