Job description

As an Indirect Tax Compliance Team Lead, you will be part of our European VAT Team, which is responsible for the end-to-end indirect tax compliance and strategy in the EAME region.

As an Indirect Tax Compliance Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing Indirect Tax registrations and the corresponding end-to-end operational reporting obligations and processes of assigned Syngenta entities. You will be also responsible for the execution of the end-to-end Indirect Tax operational strategy and optimizing Indirect Tax compliance costs and facilitate risk assessment.

  • Lead and manage the VAT Team, overseeing their performance and professional development
  • Understand and support Crop Protection and Seeds business from VAT point of view
  • Support stakeholders and Business Partners with Crop Protection and Seeds business related queries
  • Provide VAT advice on complex regulations and issues to stakeholders and Business Partners
  • Responsible for VAT compliance activities
  • Second level review on complex returns
  • Monitor and interpret legal changes in VAT regulations, ensuring timely implementation
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Support process and system management
  • Drive compliance projects
  • Lead standardization and stabilization
  • Monitor and negotiate compliance spends with service providers
  • Provide team with SAP expertise
  • Ensuring all KPIs are met

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent qualification
  • 6+ years of Indirect Tax professional experience
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • Detailed knowledge of indirect taxes / VAT and operational filing requirements
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Solid Excel and data analytics knowledge
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Fluency in English
  • Good understanding of business end-to-end processes and internal controls necessary to safeguard the company’s assets
  • SAP or equivalent ERP hands on knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent team player with the motivation to drive and improve our Indirect Tax Operations
