Job description

Role Purpose:

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will lead process and chemical engineering assessments for scale-up, development, and optimization. You'll execute technical investigations, implement new technologies in manufacturing processes, and provide expert support to colleagues within and outside project teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Foster creative problem-solving, ensuring rigorous testing and integration of solutions
  • Ensure HSE standards and good laboratory practices are implemented
  • Provide process and chemical engineering assessments supporting scale-up, development and optimization of unit operations and processes
  • Support capital projects, change management, and process safety risk assessments
  • Lead chemical engineering projects and represent the function in project teams
  • Conduct technical investigations and introduce technologies to manufacturing processes
  • Manage knowledge transfer from lab to bench lab to pilot plant to manufacturing sites using data management principles
  • Drive innovation in process development, implementing new technologies for safety, efficiency, sustainability, and product quality

The Senior Process Engineer role is based in Münchwilen, Switzerland. Syngenta’s Münchwilen site offers excellent opportunities for creating industry-leading benchmarks in the new product development and acting at the interface of late stage-research and industrial production.


Qualifications

  • Higher education in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Significant experience in a process development environment having led technology development and technology transfer campaigns
  • Subject Matter Expertise in scale-up of Unit Operations like Crystallisation, Distillation & Reaction Technology
  • Experience in process safety design and assessment, health issues arising from chemical operations and environmental sustainability aspects of chemical production.
  • You are fluent in English
  • German and/or French knowledge is an advantage
  • With your clear communication and customer-orientated mindset, you listen well and are quick to understand technical opportunities
