Job description

Role Purpose:

  • Maximize the short and long-term value of new and existing Active Ingredients (AIs) through excellence in Product/Portfolio Life Cycle Management.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead global Active Ingredient Management (AIM) teams of functional and technical experts to set direction, recommend improvements to the portfolio and solve unique and complex portfolio challenges.
  • Work with Regions and countries to determine size and attractiveness of market needs, and opportunities, with clear guidelines around strategic requirements and proposed priorities.
  • Develop business cases for portfolio related investments and gain approval through the relevant governing bodies (CPPT, DeCo).
  • Prepare robust 5-year plans, aligned with the regions, including risks and opportunities.
  • Support Global 3rd Party Relations manager and regional 3rd party teams to develop successful in and out-licensing strategies to fill portfolio gaps and/or improve sales.
  • Develop branding and brand plans for all strategic products in portfolio, refreshing as needed, in conjunction with global branding lead.
  • Prepare global product launch kits and events and support product launches in key countries.
  • Share best-practice examples and learning across the regions.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of fungicides, crops, growers, and competitors.

  • Marketing: expertise in branding, pricing, positioning, market research plus basics of channel management.
  • Strategy: highly analytical, ability to model scenarios, prepare competitive/game changing plans.
  • Finance: understanding of P&L, NPV, working capital, investment planning, business cases.
  • Basic understanding of R&D stage gate development process and functional milestones.
  • Commercial and/or customer facing experience at country level.
  • Fungicide and agronomic expertise.
  • Management of complex multi-year projects.
  • Leadership: influencing people across functional boundaries and externally.
