Role Profile

As part of the FlexTalent program team the Global External Workforce Process Excellence Manager will work in a cross-functional environment to define external workforce strategies for all members of the Syngenta Group. Leveraging your strong technical knowledge and in-depth expertise, you will bring outside in perspective to improve access to external talent at Syngenta.

You will work closely with Procurement and HR colleagues, business customers, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders, to design customer centric efficient process, leveraging technology and automation, and building a solid data driven decision making platform that gets Syngenta future ready for enabling greater access to and retention of contingent talent.

What is the Global External Workforce “FlexTalent” Team?

“FlexTalent” is a newly created program for the management of Global External Workforce at Syngenta. A new team within HR, led by the Global External Workforce Management Lead, is being created to support it, focused on designing, implementing and delivering business centric solutions that strengthening Syngenta’s business performance, enabling greater access to and retention of contingent talent across 8 countries within Europe and Americas.


Qualifications

Accountabilities

You will manage the day to day external workforce program operations, setting up metrics, evaluating results and proactively identifying continuous improvement opportunities that drive effective and efficient delivery of services within global frameworks.

Act as business process owner for end-to end external workforce processes. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Design, improvement and sign off of processes across functional silos, geographic and business unit boundaries.
  • Collaborate across functions (HR, IT, Procurement and legal) to ensure an overall fit for purpose delivery of external talent
  • Act as SME within system related projects, functional system enhancements and on-going business as usual development or escalations
  • Accountability for maintaining end to end processes documentation under your scope globally (process maps, global work instructions, how to guides, knowledge articles)
  • Respond to service escalations for external workforce program and play an active role in resolution and closure
  • Support the Global External Workforce Management Lead in the design and implementation of optimal External Workforce strategies that deliver business centric outcomes through automation and efficiency, tapping into market best practices and innovation
  • Assisting the Global External Workforce Management Lead, manage and coordinate of large global and regional service providers to enable optimal service delivery in accordance to mutually defined metrics. This service portfolio encompasses staffing and recruitment services, outsourced managed services, and enabling technology platforms/solutions.
  • Act as a change agent across Syngenta for external workforce management transformation and key change projects, leveraging analytics and storytelling to communicate benefits and engage stakeholders
  • You will also work as part of a global team of HR Operations professionals working on a variety of projects which will help to continuously develop functional capability or support business initiatives

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

Critical

  • Strong knowledge of market trends and labor regulations related to External workforce management globally
  • A proven track record of demonstrable experience of External Workforce management, including implementation and management of MSP and VMS models
  • Relevant experience on process management for service delivery and supporting technology operations
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong English written / presentation, oral communication and influencing skills tailoring the content and approach to the specific audience
  • Excellent at prioritisation and ability to say “no” at times
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with peers, senior stakeholders  and suppliers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Track record of operating independently and delivering results, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement.
  • Action oriented, can make decisions and influence others to do the same
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Business Administration

Desirable

  • Good understanding of the procurement implications of External Workforce management, business acumen
  • Knowledge of HR Integrated Workforce Management
  • Experience in major global organizations, working across cultures and languages
