Job description

Accountabilities

  • Develops long term plan for crop rotation, weed management, fertilization regime in consultation with trailing Technical Leads (TL) and Technical Field Scientists (TFS).
  • Conduct regular meetings with TL’s and TFS’s to ensure proper planning of all agronomic practices and alignment with other functions.
  • Supervises and directs execution of a monthly and weekly work plan which includes irrigation, planting, cultivation, and maintenance applications.
  • Maintains written records of all major farm operations and ensures availability of needed stock of fertilizers, seeds, special supplies, and chemical standards required for trial activities.
  • Follow up and put plan with the nurseries to ensure production and timely delivery of quality seedling for trials.
  • Keeps weekly time sheet for all farm staff according to station requirements.
  • For products entering or leaving the Knowledge center stores, establishes inventory and maintains records on arrival and issues delivery notes when they are transferred out.
  • Ensures all maintenance of machinery and equipment’s is carried out according to schedule and all equipment’s are 100% operationally safe and ensures that persons assigned to work with the equipment are trained and competent to operate it correctly
  • Maintains all station assets (incl. buildings) in good condition and according to Syngenta safety standards
  • Implement and Ensure compliance with Syngenta HSE requirements and local regulations within own area of supervision.
  • Deliver CapEx projects according to the agreed plan and budget. Ensure proper stakeholder involvement to meet quality and HSE requirements.
  • Acts as chemigation champion for the drip irrigation center of excellence for Region AME.
  • Ensure that all operations under direct control comply with Syngenta Health, Safety & Environment policies and guidelines as well as any other relevant Syngenta or statutory policies
  • Provide competent advice to trialling teams on proper crop management.
  • Follow up compliant and provide details and summery on any evolving issue.
  • Establish good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Distributers, Grower organizations, Growers, etc.
  • Arrange demonstration days inside the CPD Knowledge Centre in Amman / Jordan and outside the site to train internal and external stakeholders.
