As an ESG Reporting Operations Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing ESG data related operational aspects reporting, initiatives of Syngenta Group and its affiliates. You will also drive continuous improvement in ESG performance reporting, including the rebaselining of ESG targets.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Manage the annual ESG data collection in collaboration with data owners and consolidate ESG data of Syngenta Group and its affiliates
  • Oversee the day-to-day Group´s ESG data reporting operations, ensuring complete, accurate and timely collection, analysis, consolidation, and reporting
  • Develop, digitize, and implement standardized processes and procedures to streamline ESG data collection, validation, and reporting
  • Identify trends and provide insights from ESG data to support decision-making and Group wide sustainability initiatives
  • Support the implementation of a new IT reporting system to provide audit-grade ESG data, controls, and reporting across multiple legal entities and sites
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support the execution of ESG reporting strategy, engaging with stakeholders to drive ESG initiatives and ensure effective communication of ESG-related activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including auditors to enhance the company's ESG reporting transparency
  • Ensure ESG KPIs are assured by the external assurance provider, while developing a strategy to meet eventual reasonable assurance requirements under CSRD compliance
  • Facilitate the transition to quarterly and half-yearly ESG data collection
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in ESG data management and reporting, ensuring compliance with ESG frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and integrity in ESG data and reports, ensuring quality in all ESG-related documentation, disclosures, and implemented best practices
  • Integrate ESG reporting processes and compliance requirements for newly acquired businesses
  • Establish and maintain an overview of the reporting boundaries by clearly defining legal entities included in the various ESG reports

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • BSc or MSc in Finance, Economics, Accounting
  • 7+ years of experience in finance, financial reporting, compliance, accounting, auditing, or data management
  • Fluency in English
  • Interest in ESG, attention to quality and details, willingness to learn, investigate, and solve problems
  • Experience in analytics, accounting to reporting, controls, assurance, in a global organization. Experience across a broad range of ESG KPIs is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a supervisor role is a plus
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks, especially with CSRD/ESRS and IFRS ISSB, and ability to interpret and implement them
  • Experience with ESG data systems and architecture, ideally using web-based data management solutions for multi-entity, multi-site, multi-KPI ESG reporting
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools, use of AI, and Power BI; knowledge of Enablon is a plus
  • Ability to lead cross-functional complex projects, including stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to handle large, complex data sets from different legal entities across the globe
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to simplify complex ESG data and reports into clear, actionable insights
  • Chinese language skills would be an advantage
