Job description

Role purpose:

To provide specialised forestry expertise and commercial support across European markets, driving the growth of Syngenta's forestry products and services through integrated pest management solutions and strategic business development.

Accountabilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership
    1. Support the delivery of the 5 year Landscape Business strategy for forestry
    2. Develop and execute integrated pest management strategies for forestry across Europe
    3. Create Go-To-Market plans for forestry products and services
    4. Identify new market opportunities and support long-term business planning
  2. Sales and Performance Management
    1. Support the local teams identify and quantify key opportunities in their countries
    2. Support local teams to drive sales and deliver on growth opportunities 
  3. Marketing and Brand Development
    1. Support digital marketing campaigns to enhance Syngenta's forestry brand
    2. Support the creation of targeted content and value propositions for customer engagement
  4. Knowledge and Capability Building
    1. Co-run internal workshops to upskill sales and technical teams
    2. Co-develop external workshops to educate customers at country and European levels
  5. Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    1. Support the adoption of digital tools in forestry operations
    2. Stay informed on emerging trends and technologies
    3. Work closely with Technical Managers and R&D on the development of new forestry solutions
  6. Relationship Management
    1. Build and maintain relationships with key influencers and distributors
    2. Establish strategic partnerships with research institutions and technology providers
    3. Represent Syngenta at industry events and engage with regulatory bodies
    4. Support the building of Syngenta brand equity in the forestry market

  • Navigate the diverse forestry landscapes and regulations across European countries.
  • Balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, including local business managers, and end-users.
  • Drive adoption of integrated pest management approaches in forestry markets.
  • Adapt quickly to emerging opportunities and challenges in a growing market segment.

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in forestry-related roles.
  • Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field preferred (not mandatory if compensated by extensive industry experience).
  • In-depth understanding of forestry practices, including nursery management, planting, and pest control.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of integrated pest management in forestry contexts.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of product launch processes.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in modern forestry management.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining industry relationships.
  • Experience in supporting Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse European markets.

Required skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (additional European languages advantageous).
  • Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to translate technical forestry knowledge into commercial opportunities.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement.

  • The location of this job is flexible, you can be based at any of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia or Spain
