About this opportunity:

EAME Supply Chain Planners are responsible for a given portfolio within EAME and distributed globally ensuring customer on time delivery.  Working with the in-market countries and supply chain managers to maintain the balance of overall supply/demand requirements for their portfolio, proactively identifying demand uncertainties and future supply constraints. 

The Biologicals Supply Chain Planning role has two main areas of focus:

  1. Successfully implementing new biologicals deals across EAME from an operational perspective
  2. Manage the ongoing demand and supply of your portfolio

Ultimately being responsible for customer on-time delivery for a given portfolio, ensure efficient use of Inventory and introduce new products to the agreed timelines. In addition to standard planning duties a Supply chain planner will act as a role model within the FF&P supply chain planning team. Stepping into additional work to support the Supply Chain operation managers as & when required.

You will be accountable for:

  • Taking new deals from the implementation lead and making it a successful operational reality across EAME for product for resale (PFR) and bulk deals
  • Be an expert biologicals planner who understands the differences to CP and navigates accordingly
  • Manage the overall supply/demand balance for the respective portfolio reviewing the sales forecast & net demands, creating balanced production and supply plans for the 4–24 month horizon.
  • Proactively identify demand uncertainties and future supply constraints to develop options/scenarios, ensuring that future supply plans are optimized.
  • Provide operational coordination across the end-to-end supply chain to achieve the right balance between inventory and customer service levels.
  • Utilize financial metrics to optimize cash management when managing trade-offs between inventory, production, purchases and logistics decisions.
  • Actively contribute to and coordinate execution of supply chain activities in close cooperation with the supply chain teams.
  • Actively share knowledge formally through projects and networks of excellence.
  • Ensure effective application of processes and the use of SAP/APO and act as an operational consultant to drive sustainable continuous improvement
  • Champion customer centricity across the supply chains you can influence
  • Identify, drive and champion continuous improvement initiatives
  • Deputies for other Supply Chain Planners as and when required.
  • Lead supplier operational engagements (Resource Operational Planning – ROP meetings) with key suppliers to ensure the best service levels to the business

Role purpose:

  • Successful implementation of 3rd party deals
  • Successful growth of the biologicals business
  • Maintain agreed service levels of the business by managing the end-to-end supply chain for allocated portfolio, providing options to meet commercial upsides and downsides.
  • Ensure efficient use of the end-to-end inventory, whilst minimizing working capital.
  • Stakeholder management (commercial, supply chain managers, sourcing) & teamwork within the planning community.
  • Optimized use of system and adherence to processes also sharing knowledge.
  • Ensure Syngenta gets the best possible service from its chosen partners

Qualifications

Skillset required for the role.

Critical Knowledge & experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Science or Engineering.
  • Experience in a supply chain planning environment, preference for experience in the agribusiness sector.
  • Proven project management / implementation skills
  • Able to coordinate and achieve in a complex matrix environment
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes and solid experience within a Supply Planning environment. BI, APO, SAP R3 within a manufacturing environment, gaining solid understanding for manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills across all stakeholder levels
  • Strong supplier management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency combined with good prioritization skills.
  • Ability to translate system figures and market insights into workable plans.
  • The ability to understand and reconcile conflicting objectives
  • Team player
  • Capability to identify and own problems through to completion.
  • Dynamically stepping into challenges and driving continuous improvement.
  • Agile responsiveness, competency, flexibility, and quickness to manage uncertainty on a daily basis.
