Please note: The preferred location for this position is Greensboro, NC. Remote support for the role will be considered based on candidate’s experience and qualifications.

At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. To support this challenge, we are currently seeking a Digital Ag Solutions Technical Lead.

This role will be responsible for testing and validating hypotheses, methodologies, equipment, and digital features/functions for pre-commercial Syngenta products.

Accountabilities:

  • Plan and execute digital R&D on farm proof of concept (POC) trials.
  • Attend relevant conferences and read pertinent literature to stay up to date on the latest Ag technologies (especially start-ups).
  • Stakeholder management- both internal and external (internal stakeholders include the agronomy team, computational agronomy, Syngenta digital, AgriEdge specialists and marketing teams).
  • Awareness and engagement of our soil health and sustainability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the sales organization ways of working (WoW) and our strategy (through and with the channel).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Ag related field (agronomy, etymology, plant pathology, precision agriculture, etc.)
  • Up to 35% field travel is required for this role (internal meetings, F2F stakeholder engagement and/or field project support)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Data and Agronomic fluency
  • Technical and commercial acumen to support strategy development, initiatives, and projects
  • Project management with hands-on involvement
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of data, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of top agronomic challenges in the US market
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
