Customer Events Specialist

To support that challenge, the Marketing Team is currently seeking a Customer Events Specialist. In this role you will be accountable for the development and execution of customer focused events, functioning as a key collaborator in the campaign plan to ensure the integration of sales and marketing activities, with the goal of delivering a meaningful customer experience. You will also be the key contact with industry stakeholders and vendors for events, marketing sponsorships and promotional activities.

We have a Flexible Work Location approach and this role can be based in Guelph, ON, Calgary, AB and we are open to remote work accommodations across Canada with preference given to Ontario residents.

Duties:

• Lead the planning and implementation of all activities related to the successful execution of events which include tradeshows, meetings, tours and webinars / virtual events.
• Support the development and implementation of campaigns focused on customers, aligned to business priorities, incorporating sales and marketing activities.
• Responsibility for the day-to-day account liaison between with Vendors / Contractors with respect to promotional item sourcing and fulfilment, event management and marketing sponsorships.
• Be a key contact with internal stakeholders for campaign and event support.
• Coordinates with Operations Lead and Branding and Content team for marketing communications and collateral required for events.
• Responsible for invoice management, payment and budget management.
• Remain familiar with the latest trends in customer interaction platforms and marketing sponsorships to be able to provide recommendations on which to pursue / support.

Required:

• B.S. degree in Agriculture, Marketing, Business Administration, Event Management or related discipline.
• 2+ years in event management and/or marketing communications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines through Project Management best practices.

Preferred:

• Project Management designation or experience.
• Knowledge of Ariba, SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, email, and knowledge of webinar platforms.
• Knowledge of basic marketing principles - positioning, market analysis, communications.
• Basic knowledge of agriculture, crop protection and seed industry.
