Job description

  • Providing technical capability that supports modelling of experimental setups.
  • Assisting with the development of new tools to support process development oriented towards automation and data science applied to flow chemistry.
  • Working under the guidance and supervision of Syngenta Staff.
  • Carrying out activities in strict compliance with Syngenta HSE policy and general instructions.
  • Providing concepts, ideas and detailed work plans for the completion of tasks and activities.
  • Determining/defining experimental methodologies, participating in risk assessment and implementing independently in laboratory.
  • Accurately recording data using Syngenta ELN or other reporting tool as required and ensuring the data is available for future users.
  • Reporting findings, results and projects clearly and appropriately (written reports, powerpoint presentations, verbal communications and poster sessions).
  • Maintaining confidentiality of Syngenta data.

Qualifications

  • Student in process of completing or possession of a bachelor or a masters degree in Organic Chemistry / Chemical engineering.
  • Good spoken and written English is a must. Ability to communicate within a German speaking environment is a strength.
  • Communicative outlook. Listens well and ready to learn and understand technical situations.
  • Effective planning with flexibility to respond to changing situation and uncertainty
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Basics in chemical engineering
  • Knowledge in Python / oriented object programming language
  • Knowledge/Awareness of data analysis/modelling
  • Presentational / report writing skills
  • Prior experience with flow chemistry is a strength
