We are currently seeking a Wholesale Commercial Sales Manager for the Vegetable Seeds team in Woodland, California. As the Wholesale Commercial Sales Manager, you will lead the Vegetable Seeds business in the Commercial Unit, delivering short, mid and long-term business targets while building a sustainable business and contribute to the Global and Regional Vegetable strategy. You will lead and develop a high- performance Commercial Sales team to achieve sales and profit targets.

You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

  • Acting as a Key Driver of specific crop strategies to deliver sustainable long-term business unit objectives
  • Designing and driving the evolution of the Go to Market strategies in the Commercial Sales area to deliver an efficient and effective business, providing continuous feedback on the area market and customer evolution
  • Leveraging continuously increasing customer and market intimacy to develop the overall Veg Seeds offer and corresponding sales execution for the area working within the Commercial Sales area Go to Market strategy and guidelines

Qualifications

Accountabilities

  • Nurture key contacts in the Vegetable industry and build relationships with major influencers on the Syngenta business
  • Monitor business performance and adjust strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and overall business contribution targets, while managing budget and resources
  • Liaise with Product Consultant and Portfolio Managers to provide technical and specialized product and market expertise
  • Manage and coach the sales team (direct and/or indirect) for the business unit, defining and supervising actions, goals and achievements to ensure high performing teams
  • Directly interface with large customers and channel partners, and coordinate important accounts in the area
  • Conduct (Oversees) market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with the product development team to provide market insights and contribute to the development of product offerings that meet customer needs
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, advertising


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or related field (MS preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Agribusiness
  • Experience and knowledge of the Vegetable Seed market, marketplace dynamics, competitive environments, and customer needs
  • Strong business, finance, and marketing acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in directly interfacing with large customers and channel partners, and coordinating important accounts
  • Travel up to ~40% of the time

Preferred Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Knowledge and understanding of vegetable seed market, market dynamics and competitive environment
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams
  • Experience in pull through demand creation
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market research, and competitor analysis to drive decision-making
