To support that challenge, the Vegetable Seeds team is currently seeking a Territory Head, Vegetable Seeds in Woodland, California location. As the Territory Head for US and Canada, you will lead the Vegetable business in the USA/Canada Territory inside the Americas Region, delivering short and mid-term business targets while building an effective, and sustainable long term end-to-end business.

You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

  • Contributing to Global and Regional Vegetable Strategy as well as specific Crop Strategies, as a key driver to deliver sustainable long term Territory business objectives
  • Designing and driving evolution of go-to-market strategies in the Territory to deliver an effective and efficient business
  • Actively managing the human capital within the Territory to ensure high performing teams, building an effective talent pool for a sustainable future


Accountabilities 

  • Nurture key contacts in the Vegetable industry and build relationships with outside bodies that have major influence on Syngenta business and our license to operate
  • Monitor business performance and adjust strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and overall business contribution targets
  • Engage with Syngenta Regional Leadership to ensure effective, value-adding collaboration across the Region with a focus on synergic strategies and managing shared resources
  • Lead the Territory commercial team ensuring sustainable and scalable profitable business by developing, maintaining and increasing market share in different crops
  • Ensure Syngenta's full compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework as well as Syngenta's own legal and ethical, HSE, Corporate Security, Risk Management and Corporate Governance standards
  • Provide overall Business Unit leadership for Vegetable Seeds teams in the Territory operating in Research and Development and Production Operations
     

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree (MS preferred) in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in management, product development, project management, sales and/or Agribusiness
  • Strong business and finance acumen
  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams
  • Experience in multiple operating models and distribution channels and networks
  • Travelling > 60%

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong Marketing background and strong understanding of customer segmentation
  • Focus on creating Value for our customers and Passion for our customers
  • Leadership in an International business and team environment
  • Deep understanding of the Food value chain industry, market dynamics, and competitive environment
  • Strong Project Management, Change Management, and Presentation skills

Syngenta carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. Salary range for this position: $153,000 to $219,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
