UK Ag Solutions Lead

Job description

We are seeking a new Ag Solutions & Sustainability Lead to develop and implement the network strategy in the Northwest region (UK, Benelux, Nordics) that will create and capture value through digital precision and application products and services. 

Responsibilities/accountabilities will also include; 

  • Align with the EU Regional Ag Solution teams to identify and prioritize new products and services that will meet the needs of growers and generate value for Syngenta  

  • Support the testing and feasibility assessments of new technologies as well as leading the commercial implementations of new Ag solutions into business units 

  • Work with Regulatory and Portfolio Managers to identify high risk products and develop mitigation options – manage trials, compile assessment data that can support regulatory interactions or support marketing and sales campaigns  

  • Management and development accountability for team members and have supervisory responsibility for temporary support staff (where required)  

  • Engage with UK, Benelux and Nordics to develop roadmaps for Ag Solutions and FTO (freedom to operate) activities   

  • Collaboration, alignment and influencing of regional and global functions to gain support, resourcing and funding for strategic initiatives 

Qualifications and required experience 

  • Bachelor degree in agriculture, engineering, biology or equivalent related subject or equivalent experience   

  • BASIS qualified (UK) or equivalent 

  • Experience working in the agricultural or agri-engineering industry, familiarity crop protection products and seeds products 

  • Knowledge of field trial quality standards, coordinating and reporting application trials 

  • Excellent data analyses, presentation and communication skills, tailoring content to internal and external audiences 

  • Good influencing skills with a customer-driven approach

Additional Information

There's a preference for this role to be based in Cambridge, but other locations within the UK can be considered.

Syngenta’s site at Cambridge is the location for the commercial operations of Syngenta's Crop Protection, Seeds, Flowers and Lawn & Garden businesses in the UK and Ireland. Activities include sales, marketing, technical support, customer support, HR, Finance and administration functions.   
  
The UK Crop Protection and Seeds business employs a commercial team based at Cambridge which includes a home-based field force along with a small team based in Waterford Ireland.  It provides growers with a wide range of products to help protect their crops from pests, weeds and diseases. Our innovative technologies, products and services deliver efficient solutions to agricultural production problems.  

Our UK commercial team markets and sells globally produced Syngenta products to the UK and Ireland market. They manage the relationship and orders with distributors and work directly with agronomists and farmers to support them in how best to use the products on farm. Including the use of digital solutions and precision application solutions
