Please note: This position will support Syngenta’s Professional Solutions Western Turf and Ornamental (T&O) District. Optimal support locations for this role are in the Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, and California areas.

To support this challenge, Syngenta’s Professional Solutions (SPS) team is currently seeking a District Sales Manager for the Western Turf and Ornamental (T&O) District.

Accountabilities

  • Manage, coach, develop, and motivate a sales team to deliver Western SPS T&O and district sales achievement through profitable market share growth and trusted partnerships.
  • Actively participate on the SPS sales leadership team in the development of business strategies, and implement campaign tactics and sales plans to meet annual financial objectives.
  • Develop strong regional distributor account relationships in conjunction with Key Account Management (KAM) head office relationships to implement SPS sales and marketing solutions. Coordinate activities of KAM and sales team to focus on end-user demand.
  • Hire, develop, and provide leadership to sales representatives to reach corporate and personal growth objectives by coaching them through difficult situations, setting performance goals, conducting ongoing reviews, providing guidance and clarity on Syngenta strategies, and ensuring appropriate training is provided and/or accessible.
  • Lead sales planning and activities by setting targets and direction for the team to deliver the SPS business plan.
  • Implement campaigns and sales plans with the sales team and regional customers to ensure sales achievement and redemption at both the end-user and distributor level, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the district.
  • Prepare, manage, and achieve annual district expense and sales budgets. Facilitate a field-up sales plan with input from the sales team and customers, based on current strategy and business plans.
  • Collaborate with HR in the areas of recruiting, role profiles, performance management, salary management, and employee development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of field experience, either in sales or a technical capacity in the agribusiness industry.
  • Experience in the Professional Solutions market in sales and/or marketing roles, preferably both.
  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship from Syngenta.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for this position.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of the Professional Solutions business, customer base, and overall Syngenta offerings.
  • Knowledge of key distributors and partners.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • Understanding of the North American Professional Solutions markets and the regulations and policies that affect these markets.
