Job description

Role purpose

To achieve sales, collection and market penetration targets for their territory with  a grower centric approach to sales for value creation and to identify ways to establish innovation products among growers to help them increase their revenue.

Accountabilities

Sales

  • Own selling of products under Syngenta NPI product portfolio to growers in line with target assigned

Value Creation and Strategy

  • Collect market and competitor information and share with business managers and field marketing team to build strategies
  • Develop deep technical expertise and product knowledge (usage, application, value proposition) to be able to sell  Syngenta NPI Product portfolio
  • Create visibility and top of mind recall in grower minds  for NPI and innovation products
  • To have a structured “Territory Profile” – Sale, Dealers, Farmers, Village, Competition, Market size particulars. To have SWOT analysis for self, Company, Market, Distribution.

Digitally enabled

  • Analyze data to generate useful insights and enhance customer engagement
  • Use digital tools effectively to drive sales and increase adoption of products across  stakeholders

Grower centricity

  • Conduct market research to collect information on competitor products and data on own product efficacy & market feedback
  • Implement the sales strategy effectively and ensure sales achievement through good grower relations and by offering solutions in problem areas 
  • Handhold the customer with effective usage of the product to ensure effectively  "push" the products to the grower/farmer level

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Hold end to end accountability for defined dealers/ distributors to manage credit risk and optimize collections
  • Focus on stakeholder management and build relations/engage with growers & retailers
  • Synthesize information and effectively communicate retailer and grower information with distributors
  • Ensure regular demand generation activities are conducted and also maintain adequate contact with the channel – distributor, retailer etc.
  • Manage the discipline in business processes - product tracking, forecasting and effectively control sales and liquidations costs. Drive the right channel behaviour.
  • Manage complaints with effective solutions that are a win for the organization and the customer

 Collaboration

  • Ensure  collaboration among the Innovation and Value sales teams

Marketing Support

  • Ensure completion of demos for existing products, through appropriate reviews and field visits with the Market Development Officers.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing team for organizing pre-launch activities
  • Facilitate new product training programs for farmers, along with the Capability team
  • Select villages for development activities, allocate plans to MDOs and Field assistants for timely execution

Customer Complaints Handling

  • Ensure that customer complaints are handled and resolved as per specified procedure/ policy
  • Provide necessary inputs / support to team handling new product related customer complaints

MIS & Reporting

  • Ensure timely submission of daily / weekly / monthly reports
  • Ensure data for lead generation activities, e.g. contact are collated and maintained appropriately
  • Generate leads for information of high net worth farmers, new prospects, etc.

People Development

  • Ensure that team is well equipped with the suit of applicable products alongwith strong technical grip over the products. This will enable them to conduct effective grower meets and provide proper support during the season
  • Handhold the team members in their development areas to improve their performance
  • Ensure that relevant market inputs are available for timely decision making
  • Ensures compliance of all activities carried out in his/her team and provide regular compliance updates and trainings to subordinates

Qualifications

Critical Knowledge/skills/experience

  • Agri Graduate/Post Graduate, Agri or general MBA , preferably with atleast 2 years sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability for creating market/ segment with long term view
  • Excellent technical knowledge of products in the market
  • Outstanding communication with group of people and influencing skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership ability
