Job description

Role purpose

  • Support and enable the Sustainable & Responsible Business agenda, including stewardship, partnerships and product defence
  • Develop and implement specific projects in support of sustainability and FTO purposes
  • Work with digital team to develop and implement digital capabilities for sustainability and stewardship.
  • Provide project support for a variety of initiatives relating to safe use training, stewardship effectiveness, portfolio innovation and sustainable agriculture initiatives

Accountabilities:

  • Be a key contributor and focal point for various initiatives across the region, including stakeholder engagement and country coordination, to support sustainable outcomes
  • Support the Freedom to Operate agenda through implementing analysis for foresight of issues and supporting the evaluation of the potential impacts of changes to relevant policies
  • Support engagement and development of partnerships with value-chain, retailers, NGOs in service of Freedom to Operate, Reputation building
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital innovations for stewardship and sustainability (measurement tools, engagement and outreach platforms, etc)
  • Connect and ensure alignment of S&RB approaches in product management in the field, including support of the
  • Work with commercial teams to identify opportunities for enahcing the portfolio value of sustainability initiatives
  • Support the development of materials used for safe use trainings and farmer engagement
  • Support ESG reporting of relevant metrics

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • General understanding of major sustainability topics like biodiversity, climate and regenerative agriculture
  • Good working knowledge of social, environmental and political concerns held by external stakeholders that influence Freedom to Operate in agriculture
  • General knowledge of agriculture and/or food production, particularly in smallholder environments

Critical experience

  • Experience implementing or supporting partnerships across multiple countries
  • Strategic planning and project management
  • Regional experience working with multiple functions would be useful

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to influence and work across a matrix environment
  • Strategic thinking and analytic skills balanced with a commitment to action
