Job description

Implementation Experience

•     Own the ServiceNow roadmap and architecture aligning it with the Organization's business strategy and driving the adoption of new features and capabilities.

•       Proven experience in designing and architecting end-to-end ServiceNow solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, architectural principles, and best practices.

•       Ability to translate high-level business requirements into technical designs and specifications, considering scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements.

•       Provide architectural oversight and guidance during the implementation process, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices.

•       Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business Analysts, Developers, and Implementation Consultants, 3rd parties.

Upgrade Experience

•     Identify opportunities to leverage new features and capabilities introduced in the latest ServiceNow release and align them with the ServiceNow Roadmap.

•       Provide architectural guidance and oversight during ServiceNow upgrade projects with focus on performance and system availability during and after upgrade. Bring in right solutions weighing the cost effectiveness and simplicity in terms of managing operations.

•       Assess the impact of upgrades on existing customizations, integrations, and workflows, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies or architectural changes.

•       Review and validate the upgrade approach, testing plans, and rollback strategies to minimize risks and potential disruptions.

Design Review

•     Taking accountability for the overall solution design and its alignment with business, technical requirements.

•       Evaluate design options and recommending the most suitable approach based on scalability, cost effectiveness, performance, maintainability, security, and best practice.

•       Participate in design reviews for change requests and projects, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with architectural principles, standards.

•       Collaborating with development teams to ensure implementation adheres to the approved design and establish processes for ongoing design reviews.

•       To review and sign-off design, efforts for development in Change Requests and Projects.

Integration Experience

•     Proven expertise in integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications including enterprise resource planning (ERP, databases, and external systems using various integration methods, such as web services, APIs, and middleware solutions.

•       Proficiency in handling complex integration scenarios, such as real-time data synchronization, batch processing, and event-driven integrations.

•       Experience with integration governance and documentation practices, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and facilitating knowledge transfer.

•       Understanding of integration performance optimization techniques, load balancing, and scalability considerations.

Best practice for development

•     Define and continuously update coding standards and best practices for ServiceNow collaborating with Devops and Platform team.

•       Establish processes for code reviews and static code analysis to identify and address potential issues or deviations from coding standards.

•       Stay up to date with ServiceNow's recommended coding practices, platform updates, and industry best practices, and adapt coding guidelines accordingly.

•       Monitor and analyse code metrics, such as code complexity, technical debt, and code coverage, to identify areas for improvement and refactoring.

ServiceNow Performance Analytics and Reporting

•     Define framework around Performance Analytics, Reporting and guide delivery team for data-driven decision-making

Cloud Computing Platform Familiarity

•     Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and experience in deploying and managing ServiceNow instances in cloud environments.

Platform Health

•     Ability to analyse platform performance metrics and identify bottlenecks or areas for optimization.

•       Experience in monitoring and managing ServiceNow's database size and growth.

•       Ability to implement database size reduction strategies, including archiving, purging, and data partitioning techniques.

•       Familiarity with database performance tuning techniques, such as query optimization, indexing strategies, and database configuration settings.

Effective Teamwork and Communication

•     Possess excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.

•       Work closely with cross-functional teams, gathering requirements and collaboratively developing comprehensive solution designs through open dialogue and cooperation.

AI, Now Assist and Automation

•     Keep up to date with ServiceNow's AI and automation offerings, including Now Assist, Virtual Agent, Performance Analytics, and Predictive Intelligence to leverage new features and functionalities.

•       Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and subject matter experts, to gather requirements, align AI solutions with organizational goals and continuously update ServiceNow roadmap.

•       Continuously identify opportunities in collaboration with teams for removing waste from processes, make it lean and automate.

Agile Methodologies and DevOps Practices

•     Experience of ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.

•       Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and quality assurance.

•       Knowledge of Agile project management tools and techniques, such as user story mapping, estimation, and prioritization.

•       Familiarity with Agile scaling frameworks, such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), for large-scale Agile adoption.

•       Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when necessary to solve high profile issues or complete critical path projects.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

•     Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

•       ITIL Foundation or higher certification

•       ServiceNow Admin and Development certification (preferred)

Experience

•     Minimum 6 years as ServiceNow Design Lead/Architect

•       Experience in multiple ServiceNow implementations

•       Advanced experience with Agile (Scrum) methodology

Technical Skills

•     Expert in JavaScript, Jelly, HTML/CSS, AJAX, AngularJS

•       Advanced with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)

•       Expert in ServiceNow scripting

•       Experience with Object-Oriented (OO) code (Java preferred)

•       Advanced understanding of CMDB configuration, web services/APIs, Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations, Active Directory and LDAP

•       Advanced in ServiceNow Performance Analytics
