We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Platform Engineer for the Seeds Development Analytics and Data Sciences team in Durham, NC.   

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable and reliable systems infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Drive initiatives for enhancing security controls and compliance within the systems platform.
  • Spearhead automation efforts to streamline deployment, configuration, and operational tasks.
  • Modernize infrastructure components to align with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the systems platform engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Continuously optimize and innovate the systems platform to meet evolving business needs.
  • Lead efforts in the documentation of system architecture, configurations, and processes.

Accountabilities

  • Independently design, deploy, and optimize scalable and reliable systems infrastructure.
  • Ensure the implementation and enforcement of robust security controls and compliance measures.
  • Lead automation initiatives for deployment, configuration, and routine operational tasks.
  • Modernize infrastructure components to align with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the systems platform engineering team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address dependencies and ensure cohesive solutions.
  • Continuously optimize and innovate the systems platform to meet evolving business needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems architecture and infrastructure design.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing scalable systems infrastructure.
  • Experience in leading automation and modernization initiatives; Proficient in automation tools and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Proven track record of implementing security controls and ensuring compliance.
  • Certifications in relevant areas such as security and cloud platforms.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable and reliable systems infrastructure.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
