We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer (m/f/n) based in our site in Muttenz (BL). The plant is located in the GETEC Park Swiss in Muttenz, and its close proximity to our Technical Development Centre in Münchwilen will facilitate the production step from pilot plant to large-scale production.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide leadership in engineering capital projects, ensuring the timely implementation of new or improved assets consistent with business requirements and within agreed cost and safety parameters. You will act as a Project Manager or Project Engineer for major capital projects, shaping project scope, directing third parties, and managing project teams to achieve successful project delivery. This role will be based in Muttenz, with a focus on projects in northern Switzerland and occasional regional support, depending on the workload.

  • Act as Project Manager or Project Engineer for major capital projects, primarily in Muttenz and other northern Switzerland sites, occasionally providing support to regional sites.
  • Take full ownership of the project lifecycle, from initiation to start-up, for major or multiple minor/medium projects simultaneously.
  • Shape project scope by translating business needs into options, managing trade-offs, and selecting the best-fit options to meet competing objectives.
  • Direct and control third parties to ensure successful delivery, including contract ownership and involvement in dispute resolution, negotiation, and arbitration as needed.
  • Ensure technical compliance of all project deliverables by controlling and validating documents prepared by external contractors.
  • Develop and execute a communication strategy for all project stakeholders and senior leaders, disseminating progress and escalating relevant items for effective resolutions and decisions.
  • Apply latest project management processes, controls, change, and risk management techniques to ensure effective and efficient project deliveries.
  • Identify and secure needed resources, build and lead a large project team, and manage their performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Continue professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices, and to expand and mature project management capabilities for the organization.
  • Act as an internal quality control check, define critical success factors (CSFs), disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Min.10+ years of project management experience, preferably in multinational companies within the agrochemical, pharma, chemical, or process industry.
  • Technical degree or equivalent - Preferred Engineering-based (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Process, etc.)
  • Experience in delivering projects in multicultural environments with global stakeholders, knowledge of operational HSE and compliance requirements, and project control processes and governance.
  • Qualification/certification or equivalent education in project management (e.g. PMI, Prince2, APM, etc.)
  • Fluent in English and German (additional European language appreciated)
  • Excellent leadership, networking, and communication skills, proficiency in digital tools for project management, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
