Senior Network Observability Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Network Observability Engineer to join our team and help us design, implement, and maintain our network management and monitoring systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our network tools. You will also collaborate with other engineers, leaders, and stakeholders to provide technical support and guidance on network management issues and projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy network management systems and tools for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network infrastructure and services.
• Provide deep technical leadership and expertise on network management systems and technologies
• Evaluation of new tools and services to ensure the organization is using the best technologies to meet strategic goals.
• Manage and maintain the network management systems infrastructure.
• Ensure network management tools comply with the security policies and standards of the organization.
• Analyze and resolve network management issues and incidents and provide root cause analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate and communicate with other network engineers, managers, and stakeholders on network management projects and initiatives.
• Provide training and documentation on network management systems and best practices.
• ITIL Framework (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
• AMDB & CMDB management & compliance reporting.
• Governance around Network device AIS/ORT process.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Network Management, Performance, and Monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes, Splunk and Netscout Pulse.
• At least 6 years of experience in network management systems engineering, administration, or support.
• Strong knowledge and experience in network management systems and technologies, such as SNMP, Netflow (or sFlow, cFlowd jFlow etc), Netconf, YANG, RESTful APIs, etc.
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform would be an advantage,
• Strong knowledge and experience in network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Ethernet, VLAN, VPN, MPLS, etc.
• Strong knowledge and experience in network device, compute server configuration backups and management, python scripting, deploying bulk configuration changes using tools such as Cisco Catalyst centre.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Certifications in network management systems or technologies, such as CCNA, CCNP, etc., are preferred.
• Preferred experience as a network engineer or working with network operations teams.
• Analytical, data-driven problem solver.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience communicating highly conceptual designs to executives, mid-level management, and peer engineers.
