Seeds Portfolio Lead Central Europe

Job description

The purpose of this role is to lead the strategic portfolio management for Central Europe's seeds business across Corn, Sunflower, and Cereals, with specialized product management focus on the Cereals Portfolio Campaign in Poland and Baltics.

This integrated role ensures cohesive portfolio strategy while maintaining deep operational ownership of cereals product launches, including flagship innovations HYVIDO and X-Terra (Hybrid Wheat). The cereals product management responsibility is a core component of the portfolio leadership function, not an additional role.

You'll lead a high-performing team of 5 direct reports, drive sustainable growth and profitability, and deliver customer-focused solutions that maximize market potential across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Leadership

  • Own and execute the Central Europe seeds portfolio strategy across multiple crops (Corn, Sunflower, Cereals)
  • Lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports, fostering collaboration and excellence
  • Oversee critical planning processes: SPP (Seeds Production Plan), HPC (Hybrid Promotion Committee), and PreSOP (Pre Sales and Operations Meeting)
  • Monitor portfolio performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions

Product Management – Cereals

  • Manage the full lifecycle of cereals products in Poland and Baltics
  • Drive flagship product introductions including HYVIDO and X-Terra (Hybrid Wheat)
  • Design compelling value propositions and execute value-based pricing strategies
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis to inform portfolio decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, marketing communications, supply chain, and R&D for seamless go-to-market execution
  • Represent Central Europe in regional/global portfolio discussions
  • Manage portfolio budgets to deliver EBITDA targets

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5–7+ years in portfolio/product management or marketing within the agricultural sector
  • Proven track record leading multi-crop portfolios with measurable business growth
  • Experience managing teams and successful product launches, particularly in cereals/hybrid technologies
  • Demonstrated success in value proposition creation and pricing execution

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep understanding of seeds industry dynamics and Central European cereals markets
  • Strong analytical capabilities for market data interpretation and portfolio optimization
  • Expertise in portfolio management processes and product lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in portfolio management systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills

Personal Attributes

  • Customer-centric mindset balancing commercial priorities with technical integrity
  • High adaptability in fast-changing market environments
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead complex cross-market initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with execution excellence

Languages

  • Fluent Polish & English (required)
  • Czech, Slovak, or Baltic languages would be an advantage
