  • Assure development, organizational alignment and approval of final NA Seeds Production Plans (SPP) that fulfill strategic and financial goals. Ensure connection to distribution planning & execution that achieves budgeted financial targets and customer service levels. Ensure alignment with global principles & processes for regional consistency, justify where NA/Regions deviations are required
  • Provide frequent reconciliations against market share, market size by crop/region/pricing, trait strategy and regulatory approval status, product portfolio disciplines and cost to serve. Ensure clarity and accountability of risk management scenarios for Demand and Seeds Production Ops (both field and plant).
  • Be the regional contact point to the Global Seeds Planning and Logistics organization implementing the key projects, processes, initiatives and tools
  • Build out and maintain the optimization models and analytics used to build the SPPs

Accountabilities

  • Create balanced supply and demand plans for NA commercial seeds
  • Create the site Rough Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP), ensuring all assets are balanced and optimally used to deliver the production plan through that asset
  • Responsible to develop calendars for key events/timelines  and also assuring data inputs meet these timelines from the  various “stakeholders” in SPP processes, in collaboration with Global Planning Mgr
  • Deliver Regional and Global KPI's as per need, track against those and ensure performance to them
  • Lead the intiatives on improving Demand Accuracy, Supply Adherence, Inventory Turns. Continually review the approach to planning, in cooperation with Global Planning Team
  • Ensure data-driven decision making by developing analytical capabilities
  • Orchestrate the yearly review of SPS
  • Serve as a liaison to NA P&S LT
  • Establish effective working relationships with the other key stakeholders in NA. Be the face of Planning towards all levels of leadership in NA.
  • Ensures best use of technology to make processes effective and efficient
  • Fosters and facilitates communication, sharing and teamwork not only in natural teams but also across functions and geography
  • Ensure a strong connection between SPP and S&OP

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand a problem described by numbers and interpret and explain that to others in a “common” language
  • Networking and building trust across Planning
  • Networking with key stakeholders in functions
  • Engaging with other colleagues in Planning Excellence & S&OP Excellence to prioritize opportunities and coordinate improvement strategies

Critical knowledge

  • The ability to recognize competitive activities in the marketplace and respond effectively to minimize impact without compromising profitability targets
  • General sales, marketing and technical skills; knowledge of product lines; knowledge of customers and distribution channels; agronomic and seed marketing expertise

Critical experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Agricultural discipline
  • Leadership, innovative thinking, and calculated risk-taking
  • Excellent Networking capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge and experience (10 years preferred) in the field of
  • An end to end Seeds Production and Supply Chain network
  • Cross regional seeds movements and all its aspects from costing through phytosanitary, quality and customs regulations (import / export)
  • In particular: international certification bodies and their requirements
  • Distribution and inventory planning
  • Various logistics solution models
