Seed Processing Engineer

  • Primary Location:  NL-Enkhuizen 
  • Business Unit:  P&S – Vegetable Seed Enhancement Technology
  • Schedule:  Permanent 

Into Action

You are a member of a multidisciplinary team embedded with a variety of stakeholders to support the global vegetable seeds business. You will lead well-defined projects to improve the process and the performance of vegetable seeds with a focus on bringing in innovative processing technologies. You will be closely connected to seed processing plants to support and service vegetable sites globally.

The Challenge

To succeed in this role, you need to establish a strong knowledge of seed physiology and seed business. With this knowledge, strong project management, and communication skills, you will lead projects independently with varieties of stakeholders. With your scientific approach, you will design and execute the experiments. You are confident with statistics and data analysis to make data-based decisions timely and according to project timelines. You will actively take part in the technology transfer and implementation process in the processing plants.  You have the drive and motivation to get to know processing machinery and equipment and are willing to be a contact point in the VSET team for engineering support. You build a network across global processing sites to connect to key local partners to support them with your scientific and technical expertise.


Qualifications

Your Profile

You have preferably an MSc degree in agriculture engineering, processing technology, or equivalent qualification /relevant experience. You are results-oriented and have the drive and passion to find technical solutions and work on the boundaries of plant biology/ process technology, and operations. Furthermore, you have good English language and strong communication skills to communicate with diverse internal stakeholders. You are a team player, and you like to work in multidisciplinary teams in an international environment. Relevant work experience in an operational environment and basic command of the Dutch language or willingness to learn it in short term will be beneficial.
