Role purpose

  • Drive delivery of new AI and PLCM projects in the Crop Protection Development ( CPD) portfolio, in line with strategic drivers, and within agreed timelines, budget, scope and quality. Portfolio responsibility for one or more countries.
  • Drive Portfolio definition cycle and new project scoping.
  • Lead and manage the project portfolio for 3rd party introductions, within Crop Protection Development.
  • Lead the Technical Support transformation initiative and change management.
  • Business partner at cross-functional project development forums (regional, global, connectivity with countries)

 

Accountabilities

  • Delivers agreed Crop Protection Development Project Portfolio and PLCM/ product registrations for one or more countries across Asia Pacific. Responsible for promoting and facilitating decision-making that is fact-based.
  • Leads ideation for new product development and 3rd party product introductions, required investment and consequent project management. Good level of understanding of technical profiles, APAC regulatory environment and contractual requirements with 3rd parties (MNCs, local companies).
  • Proactively identifies, documents, and manages project risks, issues, and opportunities to ensure rigorous control of the product development
  • Works closely with Marketing and other CPD functions to ensure project pipeline adheres to strategy and its delivery. Management of development resource deployment to maximise business and customer value.
  • Project governance: lead projects through established stage gate promotion process at Regional and Global Level. Project data and document owner.
  • Ensure transparency at project and portfolio level.
  • Manage necessary Project and portfolio management IT tools; promote global standards, methodology, tools, and ways of working aimed at reducing complexity and increasing productivity and agility across the organization.
  • Drives the Technical Support transformation project (phase 2) in close collaboration with APAC Technical Support Head and Country teams. Creates change management plans and necessary frameworks in support of the new organizational set-up and activities.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

  • Project and/or Portfolio management experience (7+ years). Proven track record of success managing large development projects
  • Good understanding of Agribusiness strategies, trends and of the principles of value creation for growers.
  • Agronomy, Biology, background strongly preferred
  • Experience working in cross-functional team close to the business, to influence and set strategy
  • Experience in customer facing roles is a plus
  • Technical and market/customer knowledge across disciplines and markets, ideally based on actual work experience
  • Familiarity with information technology and data management with ability to use them to support business objectives 
  • Strong Business-, Marketing-, Technology-mentality mix; entrepreneurial ways of working
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment and matrix organization. Work experience at Regional or Global level or another APAC country.

Qualifications:

  • Science or Engineering degree to MSci level; Agronomy, Biology or Chemistry background preferred
  • Additional qualifications in finance/business administration/MBA is desirable
  • Experience in Agribusiness or R&D operations
  • Advanced project management training, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent qualification is desirable..

  • Self-motivated, independent individual, able to lead multi-cultural teams to achieve results
  • Ability to influence without direct reports, strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of R&D functions and processes necessary for new product development
  • Agile mindset with strong organizational skills
