As Engineering & Workflow Automation Trainee you will support our project teams and project engineers who work on the continuous improvement roadmap of Capital Project Group EAME (Crop Protection / Formulation Fill & Packaging / R&D). The objective of this initiative is to identify repetitive tasks that could be automated or digitalized within our project management process. The aim will be to limit non-added value and repetitive tasks for the engineering team members. To accomplish this, we first define the process steps to automate, then use integration tools such as e.g. Power Automate to perform the automation and lastly, we train the teams to use the newly developed solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Utilize Continuous Improvement tools (SIPOC and Value Stream Mapping) with the aid of Engineering and Operational Excellence teams to pinpoint crucial steps in the project process for automation, including Handover, Asset Commissioning, PID management, and expediting.
  • Digitalize the steps in the project process and connect various apps (ProjectWise Bentley, Office 365, Adobe PDF, Smartsheet).
  • Develop a dashboard to track improvement and gain insights.
  • Train the engineering team on digitalized tasks.
  • Engage with the Syngenta work better or Syngenta microservices teams to utilize integration/automation tools such as Power Automate, Power App, Smartsheet, Power BI, MS Teams, Mural, etc.
  • Stay informed of other ongoing digitalization initiatives in CPG engineering, such as the use of tablets, mixed reality, or 360 camera, and align the task automation action plan if necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education from an engineering school or related fields such as chemical engineering, information technology, method processes, or digitalization.
  • Basic knowledge of digitalization and workflow automation tools, such as Power Automate, Power App, Smartsheet, Power BI, MS Teams, Mural, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of project process within the industry
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • A strong interest in technology and a desire to keep up-to-date with the latest digitalization and workflow automation trends and developments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of French and English, any other language is an advantage
