Production Planner / Asset Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Production Planner / Asset Planner to join Syngenta in Grangemouth. Working closely with supply chain planners, you will manage short-term production plans and capacity views for both confirmed and unconfirmed demands. You will balance manufacturing responsiveness, cost efficiency, and inventory holding, ensuring accurate material consumption and inventory management. A vital element of the role is to communicate effectively with stakeholders to address production delays, material constraints, and prioritize plans to mitigate business impact.

In this role, you will facilitate the introduction of new sales units and bulk material codes, optimize production asset planning, and ensure accurate inventory levels to minimize disruptions.

Syngenta's Grangemouth Manufacturing Centre is one of our two award-winning manufacturing sites in the UK. The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield.

At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and one finished product formulation and packaging plant with the most recent facility opening in May 2010.

• Experience of production scheduling & capacity planning in a production and supply environment.
• Good knowledge and understanding of supply chain concepts and methodologies including MRP and APO.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Product and manufacturing knowledge.
• Understanding planning parameters, (master) data management & data integrity.
• Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft applications, SAP R/3 and ERP tools.
• A Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred but relevant experience will be considered.
