Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking an entry-level Packaging Engineer, 0-2 years of experience, for the Product Technology and Engineering team in Greensboro, NC.

This position will be onsite working in Greensboro, NC, 5 days per week in the lab or office. Up to 5-10% travel required to manufacturing sites or meetings domestically within the US, occasionally internationally, as needed. Duties:

  • Contribute to the complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, performance testing, and regulatory compliance for agricultural chemical product registration, transportation, storage, and use. You may develop a variety of product packaging from large bulk to small containers for granular or liquid products, including bags, jugs, bottles, or caps according to ISTA/UN and ASTM4169 standards.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions (procurement, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure a safe, user-friendly customer experience.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams ensuring all packaging-related milestones are completed on time.
  • Expand knowledge of package technologies, materials, and testing related to the development of new packaging components.
  • Implement innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that maximize our competitive advantage and build brand preference.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Packaging degree.
  • At least 1 coop or internship in packaging design for a related consumer goods or agriculture manufacturer.
  • Extensive knowledge of packaging material and design.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, including excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and systematically resolve problems.
  • Excellent ability to manage change, ambiguity, and prioritize effectively.
  • Good project management skills to perform packaging development and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively in cross functional teams, and across multiple functions.
