Job description

As a Digital and Data Operations Specialist for the North America Product Safety group, you will be responsible for exploring and implementing innovative digital tools and solutions to drive business improvement and operational efficiency. This role serves as the bridge between technical expertise and the business, collaborating closely with end-users to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions that meet their needs while ensuring operational sustainability.

Duties:

  • Explore and stay abreast of new tools, technologies, and digital solutions that could afford business improvement opportunities within Product Safety.  Evaluate the potential impact and feasibility of implementing new technologies, considering factors such as cost, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as change agent for the implementation of new digital solutions. Facilitate user adoption and provide training and support to ensure smooth transitions to new solutions, tools and/or processes.
  • Collect and curate a wide range of scientific data from databases, study reports, public literature, regulatory reviews, etc. into easily usable and consistent formats and ensure their quality for downstream purposes and use by scientists.
  • Collaborate closely with end-users to fully understand the details of their immediate need and provide expert solutions that are fit for purpose, meet business needs, and are operationally sustainable.
  • Develop, maintain, and support non-standard solutions for end-users to improve the efficiency of processes.
  • Support scientific staff in ensuring the operability of applications and proper lifecycle management of digital solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field, with at least 3 years of experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, SmartSheet, Microsoft Teams, Power apps, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of software development with an understanding of programming languages, scripting, and automation technologies. Programming languages include, but are not limited to, Visual Basic, SQL, R, Python.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Must be able to handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy.
  • Experience in project management and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage sound business judgment to translate complex issues/needs into technical requirements and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with end-users from diverse backgrounds and to translate technical concepts into easily understood documentation.
