As part of Syngenta Canada, the NK Agronomist is the commercial product and technology expert for corn and soybean seed in the assigned geography, both for Syngenta and competitive products supporting product advancement, commercial positioning & training


This NK Agronomist position has a flexible work location and can be based in central Ontario.


Qualifications

Accountabilities 

  • Train and coach the agronomic service & sales teams on new product introductions and trait portfolio
  • Lead product training of key channel partners and large growers as defined by sales team.  
  • Coordinate corn & soybean regional performance trials (public official trials), oversee and submit entries and summarize results to support product positioning
  • Support the creation of plot and data summaries for training and local positioning
  • Engage US Agronomy teams to access insights & share best practices
  • Identify technical portfolio gaps based upon market needs & competitive landscape 
  • Provide local technical expertise to Product Leads to support decisions on production planning and pricing

Requirements

  • B.Sc. Agronomy / related field required Deep knowledge of the seed industry
  • 2-4 years of experience in Agronomy or sales as well as strong technical background 
  • Minimum  of 5 years experience in seed industry preferred 
  • Knowledge of product development and marketing with thorough knowledge of germplasm, trait value, data analysis, variety positioning within the key markets
  • Good understanding of experimental design
  • Understanding of statistical principles and data analysis
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of agronomic and crop management practices
  • A valid driver’s license is critical.
