As part of Syngenta Canada, the Master Data Management Specialist will be part of the Data Operations team and is the focal point for core data entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance. As part of a exciting new and growing team, this role will have the exciting opportunity of defining Master Data Management (MDM) processes and models. As new structures are defined, this role will also be responsible for data maintenance, documentation and to provide support to users on related processes and best practices.
This position has a flexible work location and can be based in Calgary, AB, Guelph, ON, and we are open to remote work arrangements across Canada.
Duties:
- Serve as the focal point for customer, product, price, and all defined master data, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Defining, and maintaining MDM models, taxonomies, and other data structures
- Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and application. configurations, including data mappings, cross-reference tables, and workflows.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical and business stakeholders, to perform data quality checks and address issues.
- Provide input on system development and testing with an impact on MDM and data mapping.
Qualifications
Required:
- Educational background in a related quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience (3+ years).
- Demonstrated experience in master data management, data governance, or related areas.
- Familiarity with data modeling, data integration, and data quality management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Master Data Management tools and technologies.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce CRM.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred:
- Understanding of ETL (extract, transform, load) processes and database management systems.
- Understanding of analytical software and methods, such as SQL and Alteryx.
- Working knowledge of BI software (e.g., Salesforce Analytics (former Einstein), Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, etc).
- Experience guiding or being involved in the initial setup or overhaul of a MDM system or processes.
