ROLE PURPOSE

To perform quality control analysis of active ingredient products manufactured at Brits
To perform analysis on changeover wash water
To perform analysis on treated wastewater Take part in all activities in the HSEQ Department

ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Analytical Analysis of Finished Product samples on HPLC and GC, according to analytical methods and
the approval thereof according to manufacturing specifications
· Analysis of wash water and Product First Filled samples in compliance with Residual Impurity Matrices
· Physical test of Finished Product samples such as pH, viscosity, density, particle size, wet sieve test and emulsion test according to methods and the approval thereof according to specifications
· Analysis of Wastewater samples and approval thereof according to specification
· Analysis of customer complaint samples and special requests
· Development of local methods and the validation thereof
· Advise Production Technicians on formulations not being Right First Time and in-process adjustments
· Take part in “Inter-laboratory Calibration Exercise”
· Ensure full functioning, verification, calibrations and services of all laboratory equipment
· Maintaining a well organised storeroom and recording and storing of samples
· Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
· Carry out any reasonable request from HSE&Q Manager
· Ordering of consumables
· Carry out spot checks in the plant to ensure quality of packing
· Administration: Results logged into computer system, LIMS, QM on SAP and creating labels
· Ensure compliance with ISO standards and Syngenta Quality Code of Practice, procedures, guidelines and requirements
· Adhere to HSE&Q standards and requirements
· Take personal responsibility for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
· Be actively involved with OPEX strategy
· Review and update SOP’s, and other documentation related to quality control.
· Maintain and manage accurate and precise documentation
· Analysis of raw materials using FTIR
· Ensure that all final batch samples, first fill and raw materials are received, analysed and retained
· Ensure that the final batch sample quantity retained complies to Syngenta standard


Qualifications

KNOWLEDG EXPERIENCE & CAPABILITIES

Critical knowledge Grade 12 with Maths and Science Diploma in Chemistry Knowledge of ISO 9001 Critical experience Minimum of 3 years Laboratory experience GC, HPLC, (Agilant), Chemstation, LIMS and SAP Analytical and instrumentation troubleshooting Method validation Critical capabilities Good communication skills at all levels Team player Accurate task performance Interpretation of analysis results and advising/performing corrective action Ability to work independently Focus on customer requirements Administration skills Collaborates across boundaries
