The IT Data Engineer will help to develop solutions that turn data into meaningful information and ultimately help to grow more food with fewer resources.

Specific duties include the following:

  1. Support and optimize business critical enterprise data systems
  2. Ensure the data quality throughout the product life cycle within the data pipeline
  3. Create and deploy a high quality data solution in accordance with requirements and acceptance criteria
  4. Undertake the development of database solutions in accordance with agreed release plans and associated solution
  5. Identify and address production issues/incidents related to data and data integrations
  6. Collaborate with a team of technical and functional experts to deliver software solutions, product releases, and operational tasks including identification and repair of any data issues that span across disparate teams with knowledge in an Agriculture domain
  7. Work with application developers to create database triggers, table indexes and programming views, review and revise database designs and ensure that all technical and business requirements are met
  8. Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols for cost and performance optimization
  9. Influence adoption and implementation of ag industry data standards and build a solid working relationship with business users, developers, analysts and testing team within and across the delivery team and contribute to the success of the product delivery and support
  10. Utilize experience with data model design, development, data integration and programming languages such as PL/SQL coding and SQL query optimization
  11. Perform work using the following tools and technologies: SAP BW, SAP ECC, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL, Salesforce Workbench, PL/SQL, Qlikview, Qlik Sense, REST APIs, Alation data catalog, Alation Compose, MS Visio, MS Project, Dbeaver.

Position is based at company HQ in Greensboro, NC; position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance of this office.

Position includes domestic travel up to 10% of time.


Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience.

Must also have 12 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following:

  1. Collaborating with a team of technical and functional experts to deliver software solutions, product releases, and operational tasks including identification and repair of any data issues that span across disparate teams with knowledge in an agriculture domain.
  2. Performing work using the following tools and technologies: SAP BW, SAP ECC, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL, Salesforce Workbench, PL/SQL, Qlikview, Qlik Sense, REST APIs, Alation data catalog, Alation Compose, MS Visio, MS Project, Dbeaver.
  3. In data model design, development, data integration and programming languages such as PL/SQL coding and SQL query optimization.
  4. Working with application developers to create database triggers, table indexes and programming views, reviewing, and revising database designs and ensuring that all technical and business requirements are met.

All experience may have been gained concurrently. Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment. Position is based at company HQ in Greensboro, NC; position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance of this office. Position includes domestic travel up to 10% of time.
