Location: Cartagena, Colombia

You will be part of P&S team and will lead HSE area in Cartagena, Colombia Site.

Here is how this role will be critical to our business

Purpose:

Implement the HSE functional strategy within the site to ensure legal and internal compliance

Sustainable high level of performance and integration of HSE considerations within all new operations and union HSE strategics

Accountabilities:

•To provide support to the Leadership Teams to enable effective management of HSE

• To lead the implementation of HSE strategies and improvement programs within the area of responsibility, including HSE union strategics

•To monitor compliance with Syngenta's HSE policy and standards

•To provide advice and support to enable the effective management of HSE

• Support the Site in identifying key HSE risks and appropriate mitigation

• As a member of the site leadership team, proactively contribute to the development and implementation of site strategy

• Lead the site team in conducting process risk assessments to ensure safe operations


Qualifications

Essential for this position:

Professional experience: > 8 years in HSE management systems, preferably in the chemical, agrochemical or pharmaceutical industry, Managing HSE strategies in companies with unions

Academic background: Professional in Engineering, Chemistry or similar and Postgraduate: Occupational health, industrial safety and/or environmental management. Improvement tools, Certification in ISO HSEQ management systems (participated and directed), Process safety courses.

Language: English and Spanish fluid mandatory and Portuguese basic (preferred)

Functional capabilities: Compliance with the HSES objective matrix, Expense Budget, and Letter of Assurance HSES. Communicates Effectively (Proficient Level). Focuses its management on obtaining results (Advanced Level). Focuses on customers (Competent level). Develops the staff, the organization and himself (Competent level). Collaborate with the rest of the organization (Advanced level)

Functional skills: Effective organization, Tracking ability, Assertive communication. Impact and influential. Business vision, Leadership. Conflict management/crucial conversations

Knowledge: Emergency brigades, safe handling of chemical products, HSES instructor, community relations, risk analysis, incident investigation, unions. Implementation of management systems in HSEQ (ISO 9001/14001, OHSAS 18001, BS8800, BASC etc.). Management of local and international legislation applicable in HSE. Safety of industrial processes. Travel 20% and attend situation of emergency. Efficient handling of Windows office tools.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Agrochemical industry
