Role purpose

The regional head will have two prime objectives, both aiming to serve the regional needs.

The first objective is ensuring the delivery of the product portfolio across all target markets using a robust trialing network while including analytics and data science tools to support data-driven decision processes. The regional head will lead all market segments in the region and build a cohesive strategy for the region, which relies on EMC2 principles to secure the delivery of our business goals.

The second objective is leading all sites, seed operations and planning for the region. The incumbent and the reporting team will explore new ways to optimize operations across the APAC region to better serve our business in the future. This includes defining and tracking performance KPIs, managing budget and capital investments, and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all Syngenta and 3rd party employees in the region.    

The Regional Head is expected to become an active member of the APAC Regional leadership team and represent the regional needs at the Vegetables and Flowers SDLT.  

Accountabilities

  • Develop a strategic trialing footprint plan for the region using environmental modeling & data science.
  • Optimize trialling resources and efficient seed movement to support late and early stages of product development across Market Segments
  • Drive data standardization and data quality improvements across crops.
  • Assess and report product portfolio performance, such as NPI success and drive the regional strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for performance, goals and career development of the Vegetables SD employee in the region.
  • Collaborate with VFSDLT functions to deliver global priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with seed regulations across the region to secure Syngenta FTO and germplasm IP.
  • Manage resource plan and budget in line with global guidelines.
  • Lead investment strategy and asset footprint for the region.

  • Standardize data collection and improving data quality.
  • Improve HSE metrics and compliance incidents to secure the wellness of Syngenta employees.
  • Simplify internal seed processing and shipment processes.
