Accountabilities

Deliver M&M Seedcare™ & Biologicals ambition, sales value BUD & 5YP target

  • Implement AME Biological & Seedcare™ strategy to the local requirements
  • Develop and deploy a Biological & Seedcare™ strategy and portfolio strategy alignment with local requirements in M&M and convert into an actionable plan
  • Define & evaluate business opportunity in order to shape 5 Year Plan financial growth. Design plan to meet those targets annually.
  • Enhance market data by using market intelligence survey for all competitors’ activities.

KPIs: improve in market understanding effective network with major stakeholders; improved understanding of Seedcare™ & Biologicals. Deliver annual action/campaign plan & Post evaluation.

Drive & implement Syngenta Seedcare™ & Biologicals strategy and campaign to ensure that resources allocation is aligned with business priorities across the countries

  • Work closely with the Technical Team to build local “seeing is believing” trials and technical evidence to support our Biological & Seedcare™ offer
  • Engage with customer team and create a momentum with Syngenta Seedcare™ & Biologicals offering 
  • Define local product positioning in close collaboration with AME Team to demonstrate its fit to local market needs / context
  • Ensure technical recommendation transfer into technical stories for the customer marketing and commercial field force                                                                              
  • Ensure BA needs are covered in early stages to prepare successful NPI (New product introduction) /PLCM (Product life cycle management).

KPIs: quality of trials and launch plan for Biological & Seedcare™; NPI readiness check with on-time launch and Business Cases delivered; appropriate product positioning with clear differentiation within Biological & Seedcare(tm) range.

Act as Champion (“go-to-person”) for Seedcare™ & Biologicals in M&M

  • Provide agronomic support, training and coaching for Seedcare™ & Biologicals and related services to the Commercial force, channel partners and growers
  • Analyse data in relation to trial targets and share results & insights within the corresponding group (BA Marketing, TECHNICAL Team as well as sales team)
  • Aligned with BA TECHNICAL on proposed methodology in adaptation trials & protocols to build the story for our targeted crop solutions in Seedcare™ & Biologicals.
  • Propose demo trials & protocols with local technical experts to ensure the desired value proposition is optimally conveyed to targeted customers
  • Be the primary point of contact for Seedcare™ & Biologicals and Technical topics
  • Communication with impact the Seedcare™ & Biologicals strategy and coordinate its implementation through technical, Marketing & Sales and set cross-functional priorities to deliver the plan
  • Design detailed campaign plans to launch new brands including high level content defined together with Customer marketing
  • Provide and ensure the robustness and quality of the technical communications
  • Explore opportunities for development in Seedcare™ & Biologicals being in touch with trial contractors and Institutes and leverage existing EAME/AME trials

KPIs: Involvement in yearly trial plan design, Contribution in Protocol design. Number of yearly trainings to customer & grower, Feedback of customer on quality of training.

Implement a customer-focused strategy to engage clients with our Seedcare™ & Biologicals offerings.

  • Lead the relationship with the national advisors and research institutes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. Actively seek and respond to customer feedback in order to Tailor solutions and communications to meet specific customer requirements
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively address them, collaborate across teams to ensure a seamless customer experience to Continuously improve processes to enhance customer value
  • Advocate for the customer's perspective in internal discussions and decision-making, Measure and analyse customer satisfaction metrics and stay informed about industry trends and customer preferences

KPIs: Feedback from customer, elaborate & implement of action plan with customer; Data-driven approach to understanding customer behaviour and preferences. Collaborative spirit to work across departments for customer benefit. Commitment to continuous learning about customers and their industries

Effectively work across boundaries

  • Ensure alignment with Marketing, KAM & Sales team and collaboration to land with sales objective & ambitions.
  • Ensure alignment with Marketing Intelligence (MI) and collaboration to enhance data and drive decisions based on analysis.
  • Work closely with Customer marketing (CM) & Key account manager (KAM) to ensure alignment on the communication and promotion of our NPIs & LEX as well as existing products.
  • Work with Crop Protection Development (CPD) organization while developing the portfolio strategy and execution across the countries.

Critical success factors & key challenges

  • Sound knowledge of Biostimulant & seed treatment business, risk management, financial modelling tools & techniques
  • Understanding of crop agronomy and products (e.g. product range, seed business, plant health, soil health, Pest diseases …)
  • Ability to work across boundaries within Marketing Organization with Sales team, Market Intelligence, Communication & Digital Lead but also outside with Crop Protection Development (TECHNICAL) Team and Sales Team
  • Motivate marketing & sales organization.
  • To look for new solutions in marketing, agriculture and continually develop knowledge and skills.
  • Generating new insights to influence strategic thinking
  • Prioritize customer (distributor & grower) needs and satisfaction in all aspects of the role
  • Strong empathy and ability to understand customer perspectives, Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and Problem-solving mindset with a focus on customer outcomes
  • Adaptability to changing customer needs and market conditions and Patience and resilience when dealing with challenging customer situations

Qualifications

Critical knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy.
  • Marketing (concepts, marketing mix principles, etc.) / Segmentation (concept and application)
  • Business strategy development / Financial analysis / Business planning / Product knowledge
  • Leadership skills: communicate with impact, lead change and hold ambiguity, manage for performance, collaborate across boundaries, build a culture of innovation
  • Understanding of competitive environment, product management and line management
  • experience / Knowledge of influencers and channel management
  • Agribusiness experience: knowledge of cropping practices and crop protection products

Critical experience

  • Minimum of 5 years technical/ marketing / sales management experience
  • Marketing, Portfolio or Sales experience in ago-business industry
  • Familiar with the Morocco & Mauritania business environment

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Apply Syngenta methodology in Market development (e.g. Training, Demo trial, Range Management, PLCM, etc.)
  • Understanding of crop agronomy (e.g. crop cycle, Biostimulant management, seed treatment techniques, application technologies)
  • Familiar with Syngenta and main competitors Portfolio as well as market trends ·
  • Analytical thinking · Influential and communication skills
