What is the Global External Workforce “FlexTalent” Team?

“FlexTalent” is a newly created program for the management of Global External Workforce at Syngenta. A team within HR is being created to support it, focused on designing, implementing and delivering business centric solutions that strengthening Syngenta’s business performance, enabling greater access to and retention of contingent talent.

As a Global External Workforce Management Lead, you will lead a team of specialized external workforce professionals and suppliers to deliver fit for purpose solutions for Syngenta from strategy to business as usual delivery. Working in a cross-functional environment you will establish, implement and deliver an strategic approach to integrated workforce practices, aiming for simplification and innovation, leveraging technology and automation, and building a solid data driven decision making platform that gets Syngenta future ready for enabling greater access to and retention of contingent talent.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Evolve and deliver our External Workforce strategy, priorities setup, budget planning and allocation, through detailed, expert knowledge and understanding of the external workforce supply market(s), innovative market trends and internal business requirements
  • Lead a team of specialized external workforce professionals (typically 1-3) within a matrix wider team of global cross-functional colleagues, providing strategic direction, coaching and motivation to design and deliver business impact
  • Apply design thinking methods to resolve complex problem statements in the management of external workforce for all members of the Syngenta Group effectively and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with external workforce internal and external practices, driving utilization of the FlexTalent program and systems and acting as escalation point on the governance structure of FlexTalent and play an active role in resolution and closure
  • Ensure strategic alignment to global talent strategy, partnering with Talent & Culture on the development of initiatives around workforce composition, skill focus, D&I, time to fill metrics, cost, supplier base, ultimately enhancing Syngenta’s market position to attract, manage and retain external talent
  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement in the External Workforce Services team. Defining, implementing and delivering streamlined, cost-effective and customer centric end-to-end processes across functional silos, geographic and business unit boundaries, ensuring productivity and impact
  • Define, implement and maintain a reporting strategy that provides the organization with meaningful data insights that support decision making and drive efficiency, productivity and innovation
  • Design and execute change management strategies to support senior leaders’ adoption of FlexTalent strategic direction, leveraging analytics and storytelling to communicate benefits and engage stakeholders. Represent HR Operations in engagement forums as relevant
  • Contribute to the HR Services goals by aligning actively translating vision into actionable and measurable initiatives to achieve our common goals

Qualifications

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • BSc/MSc degree or equivalent qualification
  • Fluency in English
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of HR Integrated Workforce Management and/or Strategic Workforce Planning and a good understanding of its procurement implications
  • Solid leadership of complex transformational projects, with a thorough understanding of change management and robust communication skills
  • Track record of leading through multinational and multicultural environments, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with peers, senior stakeholders and suppliers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Action oriented mindset
  • Ability to develop meaningful performance measures for strategies with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Curiosity, active listening, and a willingness to experiment and test new ideas when appropriate, with the focus very much on continuous learning and improvement
