Role purpose

Strategic position to enable business continuity and future growth by engaging government influencers and sustainability stakeholders in priority public policy issues in Central America (CAC). Lead Syngenta´s reputation in CAC and execute corporate campaigns according business strategy.

Responsabilities

  • Represent Corporate Affairs and Sustainability function in the local leadership team.
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration, and drive the implementation of key FTO as well as the Sustainable & Responsible Business initiatives as part of the strategic agenda.
  • Mobilize and manage resources (budget, FTEs) to deliver agreed  External Affairs, Communications and Sustainable & Responsible Business agenda across the Business Unit.
  • Assure the implementation of Commercial Sustainable Value Chain Initiative.
  • Manage corporate communications in the CU and aligned with the LAN Internal Comms Manager for the appropriate implementation in CAC
  • Ensure best practice approaches are identified and shared internally and externally, within the commecial unit and beyond.
  • To ensure Company is in full compliance with Code of Conduct, policies and requirements.

It is indispensable for this position:

 

  • Solid knowledge in the external affairs environment (NGOs, media, think thanks) and government relationships.
  • Knowledge of local external stakeholders and influencers relevant to external affairs and Sustainable Responsable Business.
  • Deep understanding in the agribusiness and understanding innovation (CP/Seeds) other highly regulated and/or politically controversial industry.
  • Proven ability to deal with complex issues, and develop effective strategies and solutions for managing them.
  • Having participated of Business Leadership commitees
  • Desirable at least two years expirience in the value chain
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence effectively upward, downward and at peer level.
