To support that challenge, Syngenta’s Seedcare & Biologicals team is currently seeking a Head of Biological Sales for the United States.

The Head of Biologicals Sales will be accountable for leading organizational success by overseeing and optimizing the operations, performance, and growth of Biological business across the US. This dynamic leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing company strategies, developing Biological business, and ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional customer experiences across the biologicals business.

Accountabilities:

  • In partnership with the US Crop Protection (CP) Sales Leadership Team, co-create the Go-To-Market and channel/grower strategies for biologicals products.
  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate the US Biologicals sales team to deliver US sales and financial budget for Biologicals through profitable market share growth, trusted partnerships and constant interaction with the entire Syngenta “One Team”. Ensure the execution of Biological sales occurs with distributors, key retailers, sellers and growers’ plan to grow adoption in Biologicals. 
  • Ensure expertise and market knowledge of Biologicals occurs throughout the US market not only within the Biologicals Team but in all Commercial Units. This includes supporting and influencing CP product marketing, Commercial Unit (CU) Customer Marketing and CU Heads along with their District Managers within the Commercial Unit.
  • Ensure the development of campaigns for Biologicals occur within each CU contributing to definition crops, product, market sizes of the opportunities, strategies and tactics for success, making sure Biologicals are included and represented in the process. Ensure that Biologicals are included in the account business plans for the Key Accounts and Key Retailers.
  • Drive the implementation and execution of high-performance sales management curriculum and anticipate team development needs. Provide ongoing coaching and proactively seek out opportunities to develop team members.
  • Develop strong National distributor and large retailers account relationships in conjunction with CU Heads, Key Account Managers, and District Managers and Biologicals sales team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required for this role, preferably in Ag science or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, people management, and/or large account management.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta.
  • Up to 50% travel is required for this role.

Preferred:

  • Extensive Ag Sales, People Management/Leadership, and/or Biologicals experience is highly preferred.
  • Business and marketing strategy experience.
  • Strong sense of customer focus and demonstrated sales and negotiations skills.
  • Strategic Sales Management and Change Management experience.
  • Agronomic knowledge relevant to the US Business.
  • Deep knowledge of the Agriculture industry at the field level.
