We are currently seeking a Field Allocation & Mapping Research Associate located in Salinas, Puerto Rico. As the Field Allocation & Mapping Research Associate you will help the continuous nursery operations for Corn, Soybean, and Sunflower by coordinating and executing agronomical activities.
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
- Coordinating and executing all Field Allocation & Mapping activities.
- Assuring success of field mapping and planting with effectiveness in the use of the technique as well as equipment.
- Being in compliance with all EPA, USDA, and local regulations as well as all site HSE and Quality protocols.
Accountabilities
- Take action according to priorities based on crops needs.
- Lookout the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the temporary employees’ performance under your supervision.
- Collaborate with Agronomy team in other tasks or cross training activities such as but not limit to irrigation, IPM and equipment maintenance when necessary.
- Be able to assist in Crops and Site activities according with company needs.
- Demonstrate innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and recommending new processes, products, training opportunities or techniques that will increase plant health, efficiencies or improve skills.
Qualifications
Requirements
- B. S in Surveying or related to field.
- +5 years of experience on surveying in agriculture fields, seed production operations and regulatory and compliance roles
- Excellent understanding of all relevant agronomic practices in a tropical environment.
- Knowledge of seed crop research, production, and quality assurance practices.
- Knowledge and experience in Corn, Soybean and Sunflower seed production.
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer software for data management, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS mapping software and other relevant software required to operate efficiently
