We are currently seeking a Field Allocation & Mapping Research Associate located in Salinas, Puerto Rico. As the Field Allocation & Mapping Research Associate you will help the continuous nursery operations for Corn, Soybean, and Sunflower by coordinating and executing agronomical activities. 

You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:

  • Coordinating and executing all Field Allocation & Mapping activities.
  • Assuring success of field mapping and planting with effectiveness in the use of the technique as well as equipment.
  • Being in compliance with all EPA, USDA, and local regulations as well as all site HSE and Quality protocols.

Accountabilities

  • Take action according to priorities based on crops needs.
  • Lookout the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the temporary employees’ performance under your supervision.
  • Collaborate with Agronomy team in other tasks or cross training activities such as but not limit to irrigation, IPM and equipment maintenance when necessary.
  • Be able to assist in Crops and Site activities according with company needs.
  • Demonstrate innovation by staying aware of emerging trends and recommending new processes, products, training opportunities or techniques that will increase plant health, efficiencies or improve skills.

 


Qualifications

Requirements

  • B. S in Surveying or related to field.
  • +5 years of experience on surveying in agriculture fields, seed production operations and regulatory and compliance roles
  • Excellent understanding of all relevant agronomic practices in a tropical environment.
  • Knowledge of seed crop research, production, and quality assurance practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in Corn, Soybean and Sunflower seed production.
  •  Knowledge of and ability to use computer software for data management, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS mapping software and other relevant software required to operate efficiently
