Job description

We are looking for an Electrician to join the Crop Protection (CP) facilities Management team based in Alva, Florida. In this role, you will ensure the electrical equipment in our facilities operates safely and reliably by performing inspections and routine maintenance. Your responsibilities will involve testing and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment, identifying replacement parts, and completing repairs. You'll also be expected to respond to unexpected failures and take part in a rotating on-call system. Additional maintenance duties may require mechanical or structural work as needed.

Duties:

  • Ensure electrical equipment is maintained to national standards.
  • Identify equipment requiring maintenance, repair, or replacement.
  • Accurate and timely diagnosis of faulty component.
  • Consistently follow safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide effective feedback to stakeholders on progress of repairs and maintenance.
  • Will work independently with accountability to manager for daily progress reporting.
  • Installs new or replacement electrical components or systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Five years experience in electrical construction, maintenance or diagnostic role.
  • Two years experience selecting electrical replacement parts.
  • Knowledgeable in three-phase wiring systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • NFPA 70E compliance certification.
  • Understanding of safe electrical work (Lockout/Tagout). Skilled in testing wiring systems up to 480v.
  • Experienced in diagnosing and repairing motor controls. Capable of installing programmable devices, including PLCs, loop controllers, irrigation, temperature controllers, VFDs, and Centaur software.
  • Proficient in diagnosing sensor systems, such as temperature sensors and limit switches.
  • Experience in telecommunications and data system installation and repairs.

Preferred:

  • State licensed Electrical Contractor is advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be available for on-call service and able to reach the facility within 45 minutes.
  • Availability to work on weekends for about 25% of the schedule.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • Must work in all weather conditions.
  • All applicants must have eligibility to work in the US.
