Role purpose

  • Coordinate transformational projects through the EAME processing sites, to increase manufacturing capacity, to improve quality and/or to reduce manufacturing costs
  • Promotes continuous improvement culture (PDCA) identifying, collecting, and implementing continuous improvements ideas, kaizen and reapplications
  • Promotes reapplication culture across the region identifying, collecting, and implementing best practices and manufacturing standards, to standardize them
  • Develop and bring alive digital strategies at processing sites, through design, standardization, and implementation of solutions
  • Build a network with internal and external manufacturing sites, to share good practices & learnings

Accountabilities

  • ​​Lead the key EAME projects that require transversal coordination to standardize solutions and reapplications
  • Ensure monitoring the weekly / monthly progression of the key projects in term of performance & efficiencies, investigate operational problems affecting implementation and manage corrective deviations
  • Generate and document technical improvement masterplans focused on process improvements (PDCA) and robustness opportunities that can be standardized
  • Provide and executes experimental programs aimed at resolving routine technical problems observed during full scale manufacture
  • Improves existing operations bringing in new methods, processes, and technologies 
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support on Q-HSE issues including regulatory compliance & process safety/workplace risk assessment
  • Generate the business cases in seeds capital projects, including process plant design and equipment evaluation and specification, with a focus on supporting the business and financial analysis
  • Connect with different interfaces (crop leads, field production teams, lab teams and process experts) in troubleshooting quality compliances/ non-conformities and other issues
  • Connect with the sites process improvement engineers to share learnings, best practices and optimization development programs
  • Collaborate with EAME procurement teams to share projects and programs that require capex investments, define the support needed from procurement

Qualifications

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

  • University degree (BS min or equivalent) in process, chemistry, chemical / industrial engineering / biology / agronomy / food science
  • Local language + English (written, spoken) is a must
  • At least 5 years of experience in industry, whether in process development or in a production environment or associated support functions
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemical / biological / industrial processes
  • Capability to manage a project (project management skills) also across Countries
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions, and finding answers that work
  • Lean six sigma knowledge (minimum green belt or master black belt) or equivalent knowledge to manage/optimize processes
  • Demonstrates experience in or operational manufacturing roles
  • Track records of applying process engineering principles
